Fencing and equestrian (the two that I brought up) are Olympic sports. I can't help it if they don't meet your narrow-minded definitions.

It's unclear to me how the top woman's foil fencer would fair against the 100th best men's foil fencer. Fencing can be pretty random and you can get upset easily by someone much worse than you if you lose concentration. The bouts are pretty short. I suspect they'd do much worse than the best woman golfer than the 100th best men's golfer, though.

I fenced epee in college and women only fenced foil so I can't really judge myself.

Consistent? She's almost boring!!!! Always on the fairway (with one close call), always within 20-25ft for birdie, missed birdie every time (with one exception), and never over par.

Of course, most golfers would kill their club pro for a "boring" game like that!

Long distance marathoning is probably the only 'sport' where both sexes are equal. After 50-100 miles of mountain running..

"Feeling a bit defensive, LPGA fans?"

Who, me? I don't watch golf on television, PGA or LPGA. I have work to do and a business to run. I play a little, but I'm a lousy golfer.

I think this young woman is doing just fine so far. Not a single bogey yet. I wish my game was like that.

Condition #43 for something being a sport clearly states that it is not a sport if the most severe injury you can get is a blister.

You certainly have never paired up with me then... all the joys of cross-country hiking, mountain climbing, and swimming.

And that's just on the 1st hole. :)

The point about her putting is that her game is good enough to put her consistently in position for makeable birdies. Most of the criticiism of her game has been that she wouldn't be able to get to the greens as easily as the men, not that she can't putt.

Ovaries are gonads too.

"And if my aunt had gonads, she'd be my uncle."

Really? Both ovaries and testes are gonads, my friend. Get your terminology straight and your humor might work. It's called a dictionary: Look into it.

Since I am not in front of a TV, is the weather improving? Dryer greens are definately going to hurt the guys teeing off this afternoon.

There's no sun, so they won't dry out much.

She has a 15ft birdie putt on a 476 yard hole! So much for the length arguement..

She just parred a 565, I don't know what you consider a "longish" hole.

No, I actually what I said was that she would beat quite a few players because that's how golf works, but that she would have no chance of making the cut. I also said I would be very impressed if she did. But I'm glad to see you disagreeing so vehemently with me. Either she plays flawless golf for 36 holes, as she has up until now, or she misses a couple of fairways and the cut. We'll see.
