A BIG congratulations to my man, Ruben Studdard! The big guy made us Alabamians all proud!
Also, congratulations to Clay Aiken. A class guy who is also a winner in my book.
Now on another note. I'm VERY disappointed to see the bigoted comments about Ruben here on FR. Clay fans can be upset and letdown because he "lost" by a little over 1000 votes.
Neither one of these men are losers. They both are upstanding Americans that we ALL should be proud of. Both men love the Lord, both are involved in their communities, and both are shining examples for our youth to idolize. Both men have wonderful families and it is ecident that they have been raised right.
Freepers should be above posting bigoted and hateful comments about ANY of the contestants. Leave that to the losers on DU.
WAY TO GO RUBEN!
Clay is clearly a better singer, period.

Ruben cannot sing.......there were other contestants during this run who had better voices and at least one of those black contestants was on the stage tonite.
BOTH young men were talented. BOTH deserved to be on that stage tonight. They have two different styles and two different talents. The difference to me personally, was that Clay seemed cookie-cutter and prepackaged pop-star, while I felt the emotion when Rueben sang. Rueben's ability to draw you into his world is what separated the two for me.
A thousand votes is nothing out of 24 million. Both were winners, and both will be successful.
That's right. Both wholesome men. No drugs, no cursing, no sex filled videos. American Idol is a pretty good show, it does promote wholesome, talented young people.
Can't wait for Clay's CD. I will buy it...but not Ruben's. Ruben just does not interest me. He's nice, he's talented but he's lack luster. Clay has a little mystique about him and he's got a fantastic voice.
I've only skipped around in the thread and haven't seen any haven't seen anything directed toward Ruben, though there may well be something here.
My gripe, and I think it's the same with most disappointed folks right now, is with Fox and the incredibly biased way in which they conducted this thing. They picked their winner almost from day one and did everything possible to come up with this result. If they had conducted this thing fairly, Clay would've won by a mile.
