There never was an independent kingdom of Palestine (except maybe early Biblical times, when they were called Philistines - and probably not Arabs - prior to King David). Throughout the entire period of Moslem domination, whatever was called Palestine was actually a province (with very vague or changeable boundaries) of some larger empire and ultimately ruled from Alexandria, Baghdad, Damascus, etc. There never was a distinct nation or nationality which could be called Palestinian.
