Just saw. The Senate voted 51-50, with Cheney casting the tie-breaking vote, to pass the Nickles amendment which reinstitutes to the budget, for a period of three years, the elimination of double taxation on dividends.

Did you happen to see whether the Mikulski Amendment was passed? I missed it.

Does a vote on the amendment follow the roll call on that amendment? I saw the roll call right after Mikulski introduced it, but had to run.

We need something done to try to spark the economy (I have my doubts this will do it though) so the Dems don't even have a chance of using it against us in 2004.

Then, we can go for the whole deal of a move toward a national sales tax income tax replacement.

Dayton's amendment is not bad. Asking for permanent cuts instead of sunsets of cuts. Kyl says rules don't permit them... need to change the rules IMHO.

Fire the IRS!

Then we would have enough people to work and wouldn't have to bring in all those immigrants. Anybody smart enough to figure out all the tax codes are smart enough to do any job.

Any ammendement from Dayton cannot be good. It would only be proposed with the intention of obstructing the tax cut, howver good it may sound.

Amazing. Bush and his cabinet are cleaning out the corruption of the previous two administrations. Getting taxed twice was always a ripoff.
