Drilling in ANWR will help us but our allies would still be on the hook. Last I heard Japan ( just for one example )gets 90% of their oil from Saudi. Several other nations also have a major need for their oil. We would still have to protect our allies interests over there.

Well..if Teddy Roosevelt was in office for the Beruit bombings and assassinations in the 80's...sure bet the fleet and marines would be routing Hizbullah and any others who wished to throw in with them.

I understand geostrategic concerns are complicated..and time intervals need to be weighed before a sudden decision is arrived at...yet..

How many more U.S. citizens must perish or be maimed by the Likes of Hizbullah and Hamas..or by Arafat ..before someone says enough..and just goes on them till they reel in derision from the Rightfull wrath of a angered nation?

Sometimes methinks bombs are falling on the wrong co-ordinates.

Can I get an "Amen"!?!

I have been repeatedly posting my contention that Al Qaeda is indistiguishable from a secret Saudi military force. This article supports my position.

Totalitarian Wahhabists in (Princes) and out (bin Laden) of the Regime have the same objectives: Destruction of Western Civilization and subjugation of all peoples to Wahhabist dictation.

Regime and non-Regime totalitarian Wahhabists have been cross polinating personnel, leadership, funding, ideology, etc. for years. The Kings know this, and turn a blind eye, becoming de-facto Al Qaeda supporters due to their inaction.

Where is their purge of the military? Where is their imprisonment of the funders of Al Q? Where is their imprisonment of Al Q members? What government employed imams have been fired for incitement to violence? What bin Laden brothers have been brought to account?

The Saudi Regime may not actually be in charge of Al Qaeda, but they are so close as to be indistinguishable.

"It took them 30 seconds to a minute," a senior State Department official said. "They had to know where the switches were."

Also note that the explosives "discovered" earlier in the week were high-tech military grade stuff. Not slow burning ANFO like WTC '93. The good stuff is usually the hall-mark of nation-state sourcing. Anybody who can get ahold of that much high grade explosive has got REGIME CONNECTIONS.

The Saudis believe in keeping their enemies (that means the US) closer.

"Sometimes methinks bombs are falling on the wrong co-ordinates"

I STILL say that we ought to hold that meteorite they worship hostage with an ICBM. Either the terrorism stops, or Mecca is a smoking, radioactive crater for a thousand years. Call it 'containment theory'.

"It would be like Centuries past when they may have hated us by virtue of their Religion but who gave a S**t."

Walp - apparently you haven't seen Dubya meeting (on several occassions) the Islamic elite? It aired nationally - all the Muslim leaders were there - Detroit, Michigan.

You didn't catch that!?

I Think, IMHO, that you MAY HAVE a "Larger Piece of the TRUTH" than most of the "WEST" cares to confront!

ULTIMATELY, a "Visit" from the "OLD Man in a Cocked Hat" MAY BE the ONLY WAY to return the "Wahhabi's" to their proper place as a Fringe Sect of Islamic Fundamentalist psychopaths.

In The End, we MAY have to "Vaporize" Mecca & Medina to neutralize the psychotic Wahhabi Psychopaths attempting to harm us.

SO BE IT!

Few of us would 'Shed a Tear' if the "Lunatic Fringe" of Wahhabi Islam was forced to worship a Cloud of Radioactive Dust (instead of a Black Meteoric Rock!)

"ISLAM" now teeters on the edge of semi-comic irrelevance.

If "Islam" hadn't slaughtered SO MANY PEOPLE, It would be a Sick Joke!

AS IT IS,-- Since NO Respected Islamic Leader has Publically & Vehemently Condemned actions allegedly taken "In the NAME OF iSLAM,"--those of us who remain "targets" of Islamic "Holy Warriors" are justifiably alarmed.

"ISLAM,"--ALL OF ISLAM--has been "Tainted by" the actions of a few Psychopaths.

Until "ISLAM" UTTERELY REPUDIATES & HUNTS DOWN those acting "In the Name of Islam," ALL WESTERN PEOPLES MUST REGARD "Islam" as a psychotic, homicidal threat to our Civilization!

"Islam" is NOW in a position where it MUST "Prove It's Innocence!"

Otherwise, it MUST BE DESTROYED---UTTERLY!!!

What an intersting byline: "SpecialtotheWorldTribune.com"

This person seems to be the World Tribune's chief writer. And his inside information always comes from people named "sources."

Maybe the NY Times should try that byline technique -- after all, they use a lot of the same "sources."
