You should live so long. Outside of a required response to 9/11, he is one of the most gutless characters ever to hold the presidency. This is the same lamebrain who called Ted Kennedy "An outstanding American senator."

W is counting on the good sense of the current Congress to stifle this one. It is a purely political move on his part and if it succeeds in that the bill is defeated then the political gain is large. However, if Congress actually passes this thing, he will probably sign it because W does tend to do as he says. It is up to us to flood our Congressmen's offices with mail, email, phonecalls, to make sure this does not go to the president to sign.
