The "extended" assault weapons ban would ban TONS of guns, including ALL semi-automatic shotguns, ALL shotguns that hold < 5 rounds, M1 Garand, Mini-14, ALL semi-autos that can have > 10 rounds with or without fixed magazine.

That would be "the line" for a lot of Patriots.

Let the bastards try it.

Ding! This is a GOOD thing. Have the most extremist no-compromise catch all bill possible. Don't try to strike a deal with them, just let it hang out there. Then send out a Red Alert to every related interest group there is. It will die a quick death.

Whew! Thank goodness the M1 Garand only loads 8 rounds! < /sarcasm >

Seriously, talk about a mixed message. The legislative body tries to force this sort of garbage on us, but meanwhile, the Army is putting thousands of WWII battle rifles in civilian hands through the Civilian Marksmanship Program. Draw your own conclusions, folks.

Time for another FReeper postal match, perhaps?
