Posted on 05/06/2003 7:52:11 PM PDT by rintense

President Bush began the day by speaking at the United States Chamber of Commerce in Washingtion about the economy and his proposed stimulus package. Bush then met with Jerry Bremer, who he appointed presidential envoy to Iraq. Later in the day, the President welcomed Prime Minister Goh of Singapore and signed a free-trade pact between the United States and Singapore. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

**Officers, and pilots especially, needs lots of "assistance". They can handle multi-million dollar airplanes, but a simple phone....? **

tsk tsk, ODC. :o)

Does anyone know who this gentleman is who is sitting in the "honor chair" next to the President, with Rumsfeld on the couch to his right?

I had heard that there was an Assistance Secretary of Defense for Intelligence (new post) that was supposed to be filled by Bob Marpone. So, I'm wondering, is the guy in the chair to Dubya's right the new Asst. Secretary?

BTW, this new position is quite a challenge. For the first time, the Pentagon will attempt to have a joint forces intelligence world. Needless to say, CIA, FBI, NSA and others are trying to figure out how to "avoid" doing what this position will obviously attempt to accomplish - unified, single verification of intelligence, eliminating turf control, and vertical and horizontal dissemination of intel.

That's Paul Bremer, I'm pretty sure. Just appointed to something, but I'm not keeping up very well right now, so can't tell you what he was appointed to!

Oh, you're probably right about when that photo was taken. It does look like some sort of equipment in the background.

I still haven't gotten to the point that I can put up with friends who despise W. It's really really hard for me to understand, but then I just try to think back to when xlinton was in power, and I despised him, though others around me didn't, and then it helps me get past it!

Nope. I was right. It is STEVE Cambone, the new Asst. Sec. of Defense for Intelligence. He is giving a briefing from the Pentagon as I type this.

Bremmer, the new envoy to Iraq is in another photo, but with Rumsfeld present, I was positive this was introducing the Pres. to the new Intel guy in the Pentagon.

Cambone is currently explaining all sorts of the stuff, using acronyms the press will not know. First paragraph he used 3C - which stands for Command, Control and Communication, with reference to a meeting that occurs every Morning in Centcom. I bet ya, the press is making a list of questions, a lot of which will have to do with acronyms they are unfamiliar with. Har!

Thanks, Kayak, for that Psalm. It was exactly the one I had read yesterday in my own daily Psalm readings. Hit the spot. Thanks for the Psalm ping and your ongoing prayers for the troops.

Were you the one who recommended calcium to kick start my stalled weight loss?

I rec'd the more absorbable calcium citrate, and began taking it yesterday, and today I had lost two pounds -- instead of being static or gaining.

I had lost 32 lbs. in 2001 by adding yogurt to my daily menu (16 of which I regained when I had to take a new med), and until recently I never knew why eating yogurt made me lose that weight -- until I read a study that showed consuming calcium can really help some people lose weight.

Yes, I was. That is GREAT news. I'm glad it's helping. It's nice when medical news acutally comes out with things you can use, instead of more things you "shouldn't" do. You're on your way again!

I "read" your discourse with another Bush Babe and thought - "Hmmm, I'm stalled on Atkins at current, wonder if some Calcium would help." So, bought the most absorbable kind, and wonder of wonders, lost 5 lbs this week. I still weigh on Wed. Mornings, in honor of our old Bush Babes weight loss group that seems to have stopped meeting. But some habits die hard with me - and I like the Wed. AM weigh-in.

Thanks for the suggestios. Now I wish I had paid more attention to the other suggestion besides the Calcium!

Oh, and I went back to taking the Omega-3 oils as well. I had run out, and had to get more of them as well.

Whichever caused me to go back to losing weight, I don't care. I can't drink milk or eat yogurt and most cheeses aren't favorable to my digestive system either, so getting this Ca in me is probably bone-saving! Thanks y'all!!!
