Dianne Feinstein Introduces .50 ban in U.S. Senate

Senator Dianne Feinstein has once again introduced a Senate bill that would essentially ban 50 caliber rifles, similar to federal bans on machine guns.
Feinstein is joined by the usual cast of gun banners, including Schumer (D-NY), Lautenberg (D-NJ), Kennedy (D-MA), Corzine (D-NJ), Durbin (D-IL) and Levin (D-MI).
Feinstein's efforts seeks to scare the public with all manner of exaggerations about the rifles, including the suggestion that the guns can hit targets from 4 miles away.
Feinstein's press release announcing the bill failed to mention that these rifles have been around for nearly 20 years and have never once been used to kill a single person in the U.S. Instead, she attempts to demonize and create fear in the minds of those unfamiliar with our firearms and 50 caliber target shooting, to further her agenda of banning guns.
As credible threats to public safety, .50 caliber rifles rank tied with Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster and the Easter Bunny, all of which are tied to 0 fatalities in the U.S.
Fifty Caliber Shooters' Policy Institute will continue to aggressively oppose Senator Feinstein's attempts to demonize and ban .50 caliber rifles.

Buffy, do come to the shoot. It'd be great to see you and the group is an absolute blast.... hehe blast.
Ok, so I am a little more blonde that normal today! :-)
To: RikaStrom; Eaker
"the group is an absolute blast...." Eaker prefers that we not use that word........

Good to see you, old pard!
And you also.
Can you make the shoot?
If the kids are welcome we'll make the trip (they've both grown quite a lot since you saw them last). We're all deserving of a little road trip. I'd like to get that daughter of mine some real experience from some really knowledgeable folks. We'll see with my son, he's still a little young yet.
I know right where that range is at. I passed that way going to a job late last year.

Phil, it would be really good to see you and the family again.
I don't think this has ever been discussed in a meeting, but, in my opinion, this event is open just like any freep.
My son, the fireman, is coming from Kerrville, and he'll probably bring my grandson who is seven. He just got his first rifle that he'll want to shoot.
I think this is a "the more, the merrier" thing.
There's a big covered area for people to sit and talk if they're not shooting.
I'll put y'all down for four steaks and look for you there!
YEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAA!
THIS IS GONNA BE FUN!!

"I'm a bringin my shootin iron! Maybe TWO of Om!" OH, BOY!!
I can't wait to shoot that gun of yours again!
My son has a fair sized arsenal, but I don't know how many he's bringing down.
We'll have enough arms to equip a small army!
This is THE way to show our support for the Second Amendment, the backbone of our Constitution.

TO HAT MEMBERS:From the HAT group we now have confirmation to attend the shoot from Eaker, Humblegunner and Rika.
If the rest of y'all are pissed at me I'm not going to lose any sleep over it, but at least have the guts to say whether or not you're going to be there.
To: TexasCowboy
I RSVP for the Shootout. Not mad at you, just been really busy with other matters the last few days, and this thread got "lost" with all the other pings on my list.
We need to start the formal announcement thread early next week for this event.

Campain to defete this bill should focus on the Senate wasting their time on a non-problem.
When was the last time a .50 cal was used to commit a crime?
Typical symbolism over substance.

No problem.
I'll make a head count on Monday and call Harold Dietz to tell him how many we're going to have.
Everyone who wants to add their name to the list can call him and drop me an e-mail to add their names to the steak list.
I'll be back on the 12th.
To: TexasCowboy
Roger...see ya there. Only three steaks though. There isn't a Mrs. philman_36.
(well, I could probably eat two, but one will suffice)
