Dianne Feinstein Introduces .50 ban in U.S. Senate
http://www.fcspi.org/news-feinstein2003ban.htm ^

Posted on 04/30/2003 9:29:47 PM PDT by 2nd_Amendment_Defender

Senator Dianne Feinstein has once again introduced a Senate bill that would essentially ban 50 caliber rifles, similar to federal bans on machine guns.

Feinstein is joined by the usual cast of gun banners, including Schumer (D-NY), Lautenberg (D-NJ), Kennedy (D-MA), Corzine (D-NJ), Durbin (D-IL) and Levin (D-MI).

Feinstein's efforts seeks to scare the public with all manner of exaggerations about the rifles, including the suggestion that the guns can hit targets from 4 miles away.

Feinstein's press release announcing the bill failed to mention that these rifles have been around for nearly 20 years and have never once been used to kill a single person in the U.S. Instead, she attempts to demonize and create fear in the minds of those unfamiliar with our firearms and 50 caliber target shooting, to further her agenda of banning guns.

As credible threats to public safety, .50 caliber rifles rank tied with Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster and the Easter Bunny, all of which are tied to 0 fatalities in the U.S.

Fifty Caliber Shooters' Policy Institute will continue to aggressively oppose Senator Feinstein's attempts to demonize and ban .50 caliber rifles.

Yeah, funny how many people were busy out in their garages during that period. Time well-spent:

I'd say. Sweet!

It's nice to know I wasn't the only one taking the Boy Scout motto to heart during that time.

The way to fight this creeping vermin is with your pocketbooks.
I'm fighting just to keep my pocketbook myself. Too many already want what little there is in it now.

Just heard about tougher gun controls and bans yesterday on the radio. They said some legistator has recommended that we ban licensing new guns anytime USA is under alert, which includes CODE YELLOW, and when will we ever go to CODE GREEN again. Thus, banning gun sales. They said "Isn't that just what we need to do. We are under attack and we lose the right to protect OURSELVES from terrorists/attacks."

As credible threats to public safety, .50 caliber rifles rank tied with Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster and the Easter Bunny, all of which are tied to 0 fatalities in the U.S. SO TRUE!!!!!

Fifty Caliber Shooters' Policy Institute will continue to aggressively oppose Senator Feinstein's attempts to demonize and ban .50 caliber rifles. THANK GOODNESS!!!!

She is the typical Liberal, Left Coast, "celebrity"..... No Guns for the little people like us, but THEY can have guns and armed body guards, armed gated communities and compounds, armored limos.... but we are not allowed to protect ourselves or our families.

My sister the angry commie owns a gun, but she is against concealed gun permits. go figure.................

"Por que la nuevo nombre?"

Good to see you, old pard!
For some reason after I cooled off and came back I couldn't register as COB1 so I had to use it for a tagline.

I understand about the demands on our pocketbooks.
I give to the Salvation Army, the VA and the NRA.
The rest of them can kiss me where the sun don't shine.

Can you make the shoot?

"We have a shotgun and a rifle. They LOVE to shoot them!"

Then they'll be in good company; we all have that in common.
There's going to be several women there, buffy, so come on down.
Judging from the last one we had, I can guarantee some good company, good food and a lot of fun.

To clarify the cost of this event, all expenses for the shoot itself will be picked up by the Houston Area Texans.
All out-of-town participants need to bring is their own shootin' irons, ammo and beer.
We'll furnish the rest.

HAT SPRING SHOOT:

Dietz's Rifle Range is reserved for us on May 17th.

As suggested and approved by the majority of HAT, shooting will begin at noon.
There are no range marshals available at this range so we'll start the day with a short gun safety class.
There will be no alcohol before or during the shoot so ice your beer down for later.
I've arranged with Howard Dietz for the use of a large covered picnic area with tables for us to be able to eat after we finish shooting at about six.
I need to know if you're planning to come so that I can bring enough food.

There ain't nothing like a day at the range with good friends, the smell of gunpowder and Hoppe's, and a thick ribeye on your plate that you have to stab to get it to stay still long enough to eat.
Don't get no better'n that!

"GWB spouts a lot of very political-comforting rhetoric when he has the chance, making the soccer moms feel good."

Also giving Commielib sh**birds like Swinestein an opportunity to advance their anti-gun agenda that much more. Remember the article just a week or so ago about how happy she and Chucky Schumer were about Bush's apparent support of an AWB extension? They're now thinking that if Bush is going to give them an inch, they'll push for the proverbial mile. Bush is making their job that much easier.

Of course, I and many other good FReepin' supporters of the RKBA have tried to explain this over and over again, only to be drowned out by the shouts of the Bush Kool-Aid crowd. So why should anyone listen now? Skeet/IPSC/blackpowder shooters will not believe that both parties are harmful to their/our RKBA until the jack-booted thugs come for their trap and race guns. By then, it'll be far too late.

All gun owners need to stand together to tell not only their Congresscritters, but Bush as well, to keep their grubby mitts off our RKBA. That means not only not giving the anti-gun Commielibs any room to push for more restrictions, but making every effort to roll back the thousands of unconstitutional laws already on the books.
