I have to admit I didn't like Lott as Majority Leader, but you all were right. It was the slippery slope effect and now when any Republican says something the RATs don't like they ask them to resign and a large part of the media cannot get enough of any misstatement which adds pressure! The RATs figured they could get Lott to quit so why not everyone else they disagree with.
Something is wrong in the Senate with the debacle of the Tax Cuts and it had better be fixed and fast.

Do you really think the Rats would be reacting any differently with or without the Lott incident? I don't.
IMO, they are doing precisely what they are doing because they are bottomdwellers who will try to take advantage of besmirching any Republican for any reason......especially a strong, honorable Conservative like Santorum.

It didn't start with Lott and it won't end with Lott, the Dems will continue to attack because that and scaring people is all they know how to do.
