Still bumping for prayer warriors...of the posting AND lurking kind! :-)
I have had the thought, as many of you participating on these troop prayer threads are aware, that each prayer is a vote to God that we want His light and intercession here on earth. What I like about it, is that there is one Democrat quality our God does espouse....He wants us to VOTE EARLY AND VOTE OFTEN!!

THE OZARKS!! Oh this time of year, that will be gorgeous!! I know you are looking forward to it. You have a wonderful time and enjoy all the sights and sounds and flavors. We expect a full report when you get back!

"How bout that shindig there on the USS Abraham? What a great day!"
What made it even better was the fact that it was my Coast Guard duty day today.

Thak you for asking for my poem I wrote today about the historic landing of our great President aboard the Abraham Lincoln. A tribute to our troops, a great ship, and a great president:
HONOR AT SEA
Today, a day in history
our leader took to air
the President of our country
like none before would dare
to welcome home returning troops
upon the deck he slam
with military honors on
the bosom of Abraham
our troops swarmed all around him
like sailors drunk on grog
the great ship's captain wrote with pride
into the Lincoln's log:
"Today our ship was honored
all men will mark this day
when our beloved President
on this first day in May
landed on our flight deck
where heroes come and go
to thank us for our service
and let the world know
what freedom means to Americans
what bloodshed and what tears
and what he said to us today
we will honor through the years
Though great men, rare, do come and go
as fate would us allow
we thank our Lord above for this
great man who leads us now."

That had to make it much better. I bet you and your siblings-in-arms were about to bust seeing this day's events unfold.

Thank you for bringing your poem to our troop prayer thread! It is a beautiful contribution, and so appropriate for today's historical events :-)
My favorite lines were "bosom of Abraham" and "into Lincoln's log."
My very favoritest is the last stanza. So very well said, and a hearty "Amen! Brother!"
*Pinging* all prayer warriors to see the excellent poems brought to our troop prayer thread by fish hawk and bentfeather.

UPDATE and Prayer Warrior Field Trip!:
In post 65 we prayed together for God to work His will in bringing freedom to Iran. For further developments, please take a peek at this thread!

TEHRAN 30 Apr. (IPS) As Iranians expresses more and more their wishes to see the Americans take action against the present regime, the Revolutionary Guards issued warnings against those who call for normalising relations with the United States.
"The Revolutionary Guards would issues warnings and cautions for the society whenever it feel it is needed. This is one of its duties to enter the arena when it considers it as a necessity", said Mr. Ali Saidi, the acting Representative of the leader at the Army of the Guards of the Islamic Revolution, better known as Pasdaran, or Revolutionary Guards.
This was the Pasdarans second stern warnings in as many days, coming after foreign media reported of wide spread and generalised deception of the Iranians with the present rule of hard line clerics.
In an article carried on its 25 April issue, the influential French daily "Le Monde" said the Iranian rulers are worried by a "fierce pro-Americanism" expressed by the Iranian population. "They are especially worried of the vox populi, that asks for a change of the regime with the help of the American marines", the daily wrote in an article dated from Tehran...

You could actually SEE the love flowing from him to the troops and from the troops to him in a tangible way. Wasn't that wonderful. The President could have used a kleenex a time or two!! Today it was so nice watching the 'new fathers' see their babies for the first time.
