Oh, I don't assert that Wild Game has no right to post the thread. Rather, I take exception to his doing so, as FR is literally *crawling* with neoconservative antigunners, who will immediately jump on his post as further proof that their thinking is correct. In fact, had we not pressed Wild Game on his obvious misstatement, it would have stood.
I'm with you on the voting line. The 2A is my litmus test. Bush has failed this and will not receive my vote in the future.

Okay, I give up here--which side are you on?
I'll take "lying gun grabber" for $200.00

I don't have any firearms that use hi-caps at present.
So the AWB has not affected me financially.
But it is not about money.

Where are the gun haters?? Let me know!I do not count you among the gun haters, if that is your question. I count you among the breed of gun owners/enthusiasts that I dislike in the 2A movement: "If it don't effect me, I don't care none"-types. You see the shotgunners in the gun clubs who could care less about anti-pistol legislation, and the pistol-people in the gun clubs who couldn't be bothered about the most restrictive anti-rifle legislation, and so on.
If we do not hang together, we shall surely hang seperately.
www.cheapthandirt.com tons of high cap mags.
At enhanced prices. Glock hicaps used to be $29, they now average $69 to $109.
This AW ban has effected me directly and personally.

"Personally, I only vote a Pro-2A ticket. If the Republican is a anti-gun weenie, I vote Libertarian. I urge others to do the same."Laz! Long time, no see.
I try to follow the same principle, but it doesn't always work. The people following this here in WA resulted in Senator Slade Gorton (so-so on 2nd A) being replaced with Maria Cantwell, an anti-gunner. The Libertarian vote was the difference between Gorton being elected and Cantwell being elected.

I remember a few folks being upset about that though. As if many folks are going to run screaming down range to bayonet their target or make a bayonet assault on a mule deer. So, if it is such a non-issue, why was it banned?

Well then, the difference is that before AWB your arrest would have been recognized by the entire population as unConstitutional on its face. Now, any who come to your defense look like dangerous gun nuts. Once you are caught, you lose your right to vote, many job opportunities, and you right to own
any gun (a violation of which starts this whole cycle all over again).
So, the net difference is that now the majority of the population, law enforcement officials, the judiciary, and many gun-owners will have no problem watching you get your other rights taken away. What a great new spectator sport that Congress has brought us! *grrrr*

I posted the thread for two reasons.
1) To make my points on how NO MATTER WHAT laws are dreamed up, or created it doesn't and won't stop freedom loving people.
2) To hear problems from good honest everyday folks about how they've been unable to buy firearms. I was curious, because I have not heard that angle yet.
Judging by the postings, I would conclude the following:
Gun threads lead to witch hunts. I'm very radical when it comes to my guns, yet I was assumed an anti-gunner.
A lot of people are paying Waaaay more than they need to for high cap mags.
To mention the words gun, and Bush will bring to a thread every die hard pitchfork Buchanan supporter left in this great Nation. It will at some point inner-mix with abortion.
I didn't know so many people obeyed every law ever written, because I don't and never will.

I didn't know so many people obeyed every law ever written, because I don't and never will.
Yeah, THAT should be the face of the anti-AWB movement. THAT will get enough voters swayed to our side! /sarcasm>

I paid $600 for a piece of crap romanian AK-47 put together with surplus parts. You've never in your life seen a lower quality fire arm.
A good quality AK-47 will now cost thousands of dollars.
DOWN WITH BUSH! >:(

BUSH IS GREAT
BUSH IS GREAT
BUSH IS GREATWhen you look at the current alternatives or look at the last administration or look at who will be running against him, then BUSH IS GREAT. The next Republican might be GREATER than Bush, but for now, BUSH IS GREAT in the eyes of millions of people. Let it go.

Since every point you made is false, you didn't learn anything at all from your thread, and it was a total waste.

I picked up the firearm for $200 a mere 2 years earlier.
Oh well, he found a sucker. :o)
(You need to increase your bargaining skills, bro... $1000 for a good-quality AK???)

Exactly...before the AWB, I didn't own a single firearm. Afterward, seeing how a big chip had been taken out of my RKBA, I began putting my collection together. So if anything, the AWB (along with Waco, Ruby Ridge, the Klinton healthcare plan, etc) awoke me from my slumber. So what's it gonna take to wake up all the "well, as long as it's an 'assaaaaauuuuult weapon', go ahead and ban it" types?
What's that quote I'm thinking of, that goes something like, "When they came for the Jews, I said nothing, for I was not a Jew..."?
