Franklin's group ought to be banned.

The SBCs can go in if they refrain from making stupid public statements about "evil and wicked religion," "moon god," and "paedophile."

I thought we were trying to build peace, not start a whole new level of war. Catholic groups would be fine, relations between the RC Church and Islam are at least respectful.

You mean you'd like them to *withhold truth*?

I personally know SBC missionaries. In fact, I receive regular email updates from a missionary family in Africa that was part of my old church in PA.

I can tell you that the explicit and implied fears concerning SBC involvement are unfounded. The family I mentioned is working in a heavily Muslim area. They have been welcomed in many towns by the Islamic leader of the town and in once case, they received a goat as a present. This Islamic leader praised their work and actually asked if they wanted to convert to Islam because they were living their lives as a good muslim should (traveling around serving others in the name of God).

I would also point out that the SBC is part of the Red Cross disaster relief effort in this country that has been authorized by Congress. In times of disaster, they mobilize thousands of men with the responsibility of providing emergency meals. The SBC had people on the ground in New York on 9/12/01 and by the time they closed up shop several months later, they had served something like 700,000 meals. Most people don't know about their work because they don't go around crowing about it.

Imagine that.

A Mormon not wanting Christians to have the opportunity to tell the truth about a false religion.

Who'd have thought it?

re: Franklin's group should be banned.

My, my. Franklin's members put their lives on the line regularly, so I doubt they'd be too impressed with you.

Franklin's wife is also quite courageous, and supported his achievements.

Franklin's group ought to be banned.

Just for clarification, who do you want them banned by the Iraqis or the Americans.?

From your usual hysterics and frothing at the mouth regarding Rev. Graham and Southern Baptists, can we assume you have once again declined your distemper shot from Nurse Ratchet this morning?

Did you misread the article? They're going into Iraq. Not Utah.

You act so high and mighty with your proclamations of accepting other religions. But you would deny the Southern Baptists the right to proclaim theirs.

The SBCs no doubt will be overjoyed when they learn that they have your permission to preach the Gospel.......

There are lots of people who support and agree with Billy and Franklin Graham, who also pay the taxes and serve in the military that liberated Iraq. I think the real danger to the world comes from the appeasers of Islamo-fascism. Appeasement didn't work on September 11, it won't work now. And that is especially true of appeasement that involves censoring what Iraqis may and may not hear so as not to upset the delicate sensibilities of Islamo-fascists.
