Forgot about the yellow line and didn't think of the Daytona victory (as you say, blatant) until after I posted.
Don't forget Jeff Gordon's "troubles" of late, now that he's "tainted" by divorce. He's won, what, one or two races since that news came out?
And how else can you explain hot young newcomers that are "energizing" the sport? (Kurt Busch, Jimmy Johnson, Kevin Harvick, etc, all of whom are in the top ten of points right now).

Don't tarnish my boys past achievements. BTW, Winston Cup runs in spurts. Luck, both bad and good, play a huge roll. That, and pit stops. Gordon used to have a crew (the rainbow warriors) that were head & shoulders better than everyone else. They were doing stops in 16-17 second range, while others were 19+. Then some of the rainbow warriors spit and went with Jarrett, who won the title. Now, Matt Kenseth's crew is ripping off 13.4's and 13.5's routinely, and he's the points leader. Its more than a coinkidink.
