Don't forget Jeff Gordon's "troubles" of late, now that he's "tainted" by divorce. He's won, what, one or two races since that news came out? And how else can you explain hot young newcomers that are "energizing" the sport? (Kurt Busch, Jimmy Johnson, Kevin Harvick, etc, all of whom are in the top ten of points right now).

Yo! Be careful. Don't tarnish my boys past achievements. BTW, Winston Cup runs in spurts. Luck, both bad and good, play a huge roll. That, and pit stops. Gordon used to have a crew (the rainbow warriors) that were head & shoulders better than everyone else. They were doing stops in 16-17 second range, while others were 19+. Then some of the rainbow warriors spit and went with Jarrett, who won the title. Now, Matt Kenseth's crew is ripping off 13.4's and 13.5's routinely, and he's the points leader. Its more than a coinkidink.

..."tainted" by divorce.

While Gordon's not my favorite (I do enjoy his road course driving), me thinks "keeping the ole' earnings down" until
the the final decree just may have something to do with it.

Jackson and NASCAR. Oh well, one less sport to pay attention to now.

If only the IRS would turn its scrutiny on Je$$e. I'm flabbergasted the Bent One didn't issue a blanket pardon to him.

BTB, I recall an old thread about the mafia influence in NASCAR when the Frances' took somewhat of a smaller role.

Bill France. I guess some people could stretch the boycott....
