Any acquiescence to intimidation at this point will only lead to more intimidation."

Why does that logic only work for them and not the administration?

He is definitely delusional, he got quite a bit of applause for his rant. He seems to love Helen Thomas. I thought everybody knew she is just delusional.

We've had Tokyo Rose, Baghdad Bob, now we've got Hollywood Tim.

Timmy, you've whined enough, now go to your room and pout.

Robbins and Saranwrap are partners only. common law marriage at best.

I stand corrected. Perhaps I should have suggested Las Vegas instead of France/Canada

it is time to get angry" over the Bush administration's alleged reprisals against opponents of the war.

Good thing it wasn't "hip" for Timmy-boy and his ilk to speak out against the Klinton regime. Any opposition to the co-presidency would probably have landed Mr. Robbins an IRS audit fast enough to make his vacuous head spin.

To me he sounded really pompous and whining, like a very spoiled little kid that had just been stepped on or something.

These "Freedom of Speach" people think that know matter what you say, you shall never feel repercussions for your words. But now that other people have excercised their freedom of association, their freedom of speech has been trampled.

This guy is crazy. He is so paranoid, he reminds me of the character Mel Gibson played in Conspiracy Theory. What a screwball.

Hey, Tim. What was with the phony accent you used yesterday at the presser? I don't think I've ever heard another actor ruin the word "epitath" in quite the same manner. Breathtaking!

Bush is a man, Tim, and you are a red-breasted whiner. Here's what bothers you: The soldiers don't just play brave men and women on a movie set - they ARE brave men and women in real life.

Tim Robbins is insane. How else would you describe someone so paranoid and so delusional and so out of touch with reality? His hatred over the results of the 2000 election has devoured him, and he needs serious psychiatric help. He's on the edge, and I wouldn't be surprised if he loses it and lashes out and does something violent.

"A unified American public has grown bitterly divided," Robbins continued, ...

As opposed to the unity displayed during the 2000 Election.

The actor-activist accused the Bush administration and other supporters of the war of a campaign of intimidation to silence those who disagree with them.

Something like the way leftists on American campuses shout down anyone who disagrees with them? The media must be hiding that footage.

...Robbins claimed. "Every day, the airwaves are filled with warnings, veiled and unveiled threats, spewed invective and hatred directed at any voice of dissent."

Like a sitting President laying blame for the OKC bombing on "right wing talk radio", that sort of invective, hatred and veiled threat? Like a nationally known celebrity on a nationally syndicated TV talk show going into a snot flying raging rant about dragging a US Congressman and his family into the street and stoning them to death? That kind of unveiled, hate filled threat?

"Unlike the rest of the world, our news coverage of this war remains sanitized, without a glimpse of the blood and gore inflicted upon our soldiers or the women and children in Iraq," Robbins charged. "We are told it would be pornographic. We want no part of reality in real life."

I agree. That footage should be shown ... right after the grisly footage of people in the WTC jumping, burning and splatting on the sidewalk is shown along with uncensored video of Saddam's torture chambers. Children be damned, let's have reality TV.

...is to acknowledge our democracy's defeat."

One more time ... we are a REPUBLIC not a democracy, STUPID!

"In this time when a citizenry applauds the liberation of a country as it lives in fear of its own freedom...

Can any Master's level logic students help us with this statement? Are there any schools in this country that still teach logic?

"...It is time to get fierce," he continued...

NUKE the BLUE ZONES!

"The Bush administration is pursuing a vision in which the U.S. is ... answerable only to itself."

Of course. To whom should the USA be "answerable"? To the "mind" of the internationalist, the answer is obviously "the UN." To anyone who has witnessed the performance over the last 8+ decades of the League of Nations aka the United Nations, the answer is equally obvious: the US must act in the interests, first, of itself and, then, of free peoples and those yearning to be free everywhere.

President Bush has it just right: "Liberty is not America's gift to the humanity, but God's gift to every individual."

"Every day, the airwaves are filled with warnings, veiled and unveiled threats, spewed invective and hatred directed at any voice of dissent."

Hey Timmy, I seem to remember that it was the Clinton White House that took action against people who criticized it. His opponents were smeared and victimized, and some even had the IRS sent after them. Others were disposed of. So take your false accusations and your pathetic whining and shove 'em where the sun don't shine.

This guy is punk, nothing more. He thinks he's tough, threatening to beat up reporters, but a real man could reduce him to a crying little girl with one arm tied behind his back.

>Finally, from the (brief) tone of your post, I surmise that you are willing to debate the merits of the war - to argue point-counterpoint about whether it should have happened or not.<

Sure--Are you currently in a forum on FreeRepublic where such a debate is going on?
