Wow! What a great article. Glad you flagged us here.
I kept being tempted to say "I've read enough", but what occurred kept dragging me back into the story.
Something like that firefight in UmmQasr the second night or so...

First, that "man" who posts at the other message board, is a POS. Real cute, go after wives of deployed servicemen. That's really manly to attack a bunch of women.
Second, he is obviously mental. THOUSANDS of people watched this event unfold live and unedited on web-cameras. Who do they think was orchestrating this whole thing? That line of Marines who were sitting on the curb watching along with us?? This type of person who would spew such idiocy will never listen to the truth even if were to talk up to them and smack them in the face. They will always find reason and excuses to fit thier point of view.

This story about the statue that the libs are passing around reminds me of the "where's the plane in the Pentagon" story. Remember? Sick that they have to take real events and call them a "hoax".
And this person had the gall to say the reports of *widespread* jubilation are false, then uses ONE instance that doesn't even support his evil lie?
Of course his lies are cruel and evil. We have seen hundreds of scenes all over Iraq of jubilation and statues coming down and Saddam's mug being beaten with shoes.

I didn't mean like that, I meant that someday she'll be on a different plane of existance......but for the record, she's a democrat now, and it seems to me that dasshole is running the place.
I'm patiently waiting for his time in Arlington, also

I guess that would depend on how old your family is... same probably goes for the stories of the FR pin-up gallery...
There should be a movie about the FR sitroom. I don't know if you people appreciate how much history you all made. The comedy, the drama, the pathos, the electric moments, and the small talk is a wonderful chronicle of the beginning of the American Century. I cannot begin to express my appreciation for being a part of it. I know that sounds maudlin, but it is rare to be a part of history, and know that you are.

Thanks ladies.
I was so livid...I started a rambling post that would be sure to look stupid, so I stopped and came over here to vent.
I will go back now that I have gotten the courage again.

Mort buys the "we protected oil but not artifacts" line.I want someone to ask Mort and others toting that line what they would propose... maybe something like parachuting a company of 82nd onto the rooftop of the museum in the middle of Baghdad on day 2 of the war? Maybe Mort has some other brilliant idea...
Putting military into remote areas like oil fields, etc. was something able to be done. I know of no way to protect a specific target in the middle of the country without killing virtually every one of our guys who get so inserted.

My husband has been cautioning me that I should ignore Clinton and not pay attention to him. He thinks it is contributing to my high blood pressure.
Tonight, he just heard the story of President Bush not going to Canada to meet with Chretien, but that Clinton WAS going to meet with him. Now my husband is madder than I am!! LOL!
His idea is that after Clinton get's up there we should seal the Canadian border due to security, and because of SARS not allow anyone to enter without submitting to physical exams! LOL!
I think this is an excellent idea. Maybe we could finally find out what STD's are incubating in that worthless piece of skin.

Well, to say part of history sounds really large and hard to grasp. I know that it's part of
my history now. Some of the things people come up with here are just beyond funny, touching, thought provoking, heart-wrenching...just beyond words, but somehow someone finds a way to express it that everyone can relate.
Someday I am going to get a box (a really big box!) of paper and print out some of the best moments, because I want to make sure that I don't forget anything.
