You are correct in your assessment of Clinton. It isn't a policy thing with him; he really does hate George Bush.

Long before this war, at the beginning of the Republican convention in which President Bush was nominated, Clinton was speaking at a fund-raiser on Cape Cod. That appearance was taped.

He made fun of then Governor Bush, but it wasn't simply humor. In that apearance he mocked Bush's intelligence, his family, his beliefs.

You could hear the envy oozing from every word. Envy of a man who didn't know his father for the man who loved his dearly; envy of a man married to a harpy for one who is blessed with a loving and supporting wife; envy of the nerd for the jock; envy of the scholarship student for the fraternity member. Bill Clinton envies the President for his character, his long-time and loyal friends, his faith, the love of his nation.

And that is why he hates the President...because he is everything Bill Clinton is not.

Here's an article I saw today that I tagged with "collateral benefits". As you can see, it is not necesarily "all good", but this can and will hopefully delineate the "road to peace" we hope to see over the next few years.

"This was the right war to fight" - Anne McElvoy

Of course, I can't resist tagging many "Dump on France" & "Dump on the UN" articles with that flag, too, given my long term animosity toward those tyrannical bit players.

I think tagging those articles "collateral benefits" is an excellent idea. In the months ahead we will need to be able to access those articles quickly, and your key word allows that with little effort. THANKS!

Very perceptive and definitive post about the difference between President Bush and the 'Toon, and the reason for the 'Toon's envy.

Jeez, anyone watching this lady on Cavuto? We can't have McDonalds going into Iraq because it would distroy the culture. I doubt that and let's not forget "corporate America" will be providing them with jobs.

Long before this war, at the beginning of the Republican convention in which President Bush was nominated, Clinton was speaking at a fund-raiser on Cape Cod. That appearance was taped.

I just have to say, is that not the event that prompted President Bush 41 to say if clinton kept talking he, George H.W. Bush might just have a few things to say about clinton?

The mere hint that he might be critical of a "sitting president" sent some in the media into paroxysms of shrieking about the sacred "protocol" of former presidents never, ever speaking ill of other presidents.

Nary a word now about this constant Bush bashing we are treated to from the former occupant.

There was an article about that very thing the other day. It just went on and on about how we can't have KFC's and McDonalds because it will destroy thier culture and thier health. These people are nuts. If they had thier way we would all be living in mud huts living off grass and sticks.

Whatever, don't rib him about it: help him in getting the word out, by posting items and comments of relevance.

I only rib him good humoredly. I love Rush. He is a master of sourcing info. and the fact that he uses FR is only a good reflection on FR. He is also a master of using info. too, more power to him.

my husband says I'm musically schizophrenic

I'm afraid I've made my wife the same way. On a two-hour car trip last week, she went through Ottmar Liebert, Eric Johnson, Dvorak, and Patsy Cline on the CD player.

Wow, just felt a great disturbance in the FRorce, here...

I haven't been able to watch the Rummy sessions with Bret much while I'm cubicle-bound. I have mostly been impressed with his reporting from the Pentagon epecially with Shep. Often Shep is all over the place & Bret seems to be able to re-focus the conversation by asking specific & probing questions from the embeds.

Yes, that was the event that sparked those comments by Dad Bush.

I still wish he had let loose on Clinton, but it might have cost us the election.

I have not forgotten that speech. It was a glimpse into the malevolent soul of Bill CLinton.

I honestly believe he would physically harm President Bush if he thought he could get away with it.

Cavuto discussing the clinton comments with Douglas Brinkley, who is no conservative, and a historian.

Brinkley states that clinton used bad taste and bad timing in giving these remarks.

And that is why he hates the President...because he is everything Bill Clinton is not.

Miss Marple, your 'condensed Clinton' is too real. Stripped of the Hollywood act and pretentious charm, he is one horrifying figure. We know that, but rarely see him so starkly revealed. Your post gave me chills.

Then I remembered that good triumphs and exhaled! (^;

Hi, Jayne! Miss Marple took out her magnifying glass and gave us #661. Yikes.

I thought it was good natured... not being overly critical... I mostly used your post to describe a specific 100% proof he uses FR as a source.

Rush's unavoidably saying "Baghdad Bob" these last few weeks, when he was trying instead to say "Baghdad Bill" is further evidence it is he who is doing the lurking, not just his staff.

You could hear the envy oozing from every word.

And you know it's consuming him now! The man who shot a $2MM missile at a $10 empty tent and hit some camel in the butt, envying the man who brought down the Taliban, gutted Al Qaeda, liberated Iraq, brought North Korea into multilateral negotiations, and united the America Clinton divided -- all in less that two years since 9/11, the "hallmark" of Clinton's legacy!
