no PLO officials were to be arrested for violent acts committed before the 1993 Israel-PLO pact of mutual recognition
He is not a PLO official. He is a former official of the PLO.
Abbas was a member of the Palestine Liberation Organization's executive committee from 1984 but left in 1991, according to the State Department

Just curious, what's on those 80 channels? I have digital cable here myself and can't imagine what the heck else could be squeezed on the TV these days (I've got, what, something like 300 channels here? heh).
Does the dish give you any trouble, are you still able to get local stations, and can you watch one thing on one TV and a different thing on another, or does everybody in the house see just one channel? Curious, I almost went the dish route a long time ago (bundled highspeed broadband Internet access sealed the deal on cable for me :p).

Thanks for the post, but former my gluteus maximi. The guy never stopped engaging in terrorist activities, so if we can't hang the SO* for anything he did prior, we can sure hang him for what he's done since then. I just hope to heck we don't send him back to Italy. They had their chance.

We could also just turn him over to a US-friendly country that isn't subject to the Oslo accords...wait for him to beg for a US prison...

I hope we have evidence that he is still involved in terrorism....or he could try to *escape* US custody.

Wow. My basic cable service only provided about 50 channels. Anything else was premium stuff like HBO. Still, I'm not sure the cable service would ever have added up to 300 channels no matter how big your package was.
Every TV has it's own receiver--that's how you can get different channels. A couple extra $$ per month for each receiver over 2. So far no trouble with dish reception. We talked with several folks who were satisfied with the service before we got it. We have local channels but it's $4.00 per month to get them which seemed sort of weird. Some people use an antennae (sp) for locals and the dish for the rest, I've heard.

Hey, hey, hey. Play nice, now. You know I know there's a ton of stuff going on. I'm talking about news coverage -- they're in a static loop again. And at least we're getting the guys the care packages and mail, finally.
I also have friends over there, so don't make me...testy. You wouldn't like me when I'm...testy. :-)

Question if every possible group was invited [to the big tent meeting]..referred to a communist group being turned away...Really? Good. (^:
Speaking of leftists who shouldn't have a platform in the public square...C-Span 2 is re-airing yesterday's Tim Robbins press "tea party" - directly following the CENTCOM briefing (and the large CENTCOM audience). Tim Robbins, voice of a spoiled and un-American minority is given two prime viewing spots by C-Span.
I tuned in to see the big pro-troops rally on C-Span last weekend. It had celebrities far bigger than Tim Robbins (imho) and more importantly, Americans as far as the eye could see waving flags and holding signs, thanking our troops and our CIC. C-Span cut off the live broadcast, claiming windy conditions, and promised to air it later - which they did - at 11 PM on Palm Sunday eve - lasting far into the early morning hours. Of course most American families would not be able to watch.
Just wanted it stated for the war thread - mainstream Americans by the hundreds of thousands came out across the country in support of our troops last weekend.

Oh, what Abbas was up to wasn't a state secret. CBS News had an idea. Click

Always makes a big difference w/ cable if you're near a big city (Boston, in my case). The further out you go, the less channels you get...we inherited a house on Cape Cod, out there you do, indeed, get jack and s--t for channels, and jack just left town, to quote Big Trouble in Little China...I've often toyed with moving down there permanently, and if I did, sounds like I'd be getting a dish. ;-)

You're right... it's certainly possible. The collective brains behind this entire plan know about a thousand times what we know, and I'm sure it was all in "The Plan."
And, like I said, who's to say our SpecOps guys didn't plant tracking devices on their cars and camels... follow the snakes to their lairs, and get everyone who was involved. (Russia?? France?? Germany?? etc.)
To: Kip Lange
Main difference between them is that you get the following news channels: FOX (priority #1) MSNBC, CNBC, NTV (international which carries CBC, German News, with subtitles or translation where needed) and
CNN.You also get CPAN-2 as well as C-SPAN.You also get lots of old movie channels, BBC America, HGTV (House and Garden TV for all of us gardening and decorating addicts), about a gazillion children's channels, Travel Channel, and some others I am not remembering.
Also, there is a nifty pay-per-view feature which allows you to run new release movies and pay them on your bill, rather than renting from a video store. We use that feature about twice a month.
Disclaimer: I own stock in News Corp which just got controlling interest of Direct TV. LOL!

Let them run the footage of Robbins. It makes him look like a cockroach in the Orkin man's shadow. ;-) Oh, poor Tim...out of touch with 80% of us...what happened to all these promises from these people to move to France? What's the deal NOW? Is France going to move to the Baldwin's basement instead? ;-)

He's baaaaaaack.
I can barely make myself post this.
New York (AFP) Former US President Bill Clinton blasted US foreign policy adopted in the wake of the September 11 attacks, arguing the United States cannot kill, jail or occupy all of its adversaries.
"Our paradigm now seems to be: something terrible happened to us on September 11, and that gives us the right to interpret all future events in a way that everyone else in the world must agree with us," said Clinton, who spoke at a seminar of governance organized by Conference Board...
Hey, dickhead! How 'bout, in your day, you didn't "kill, jail or occupy" ANY of our adversaries?!
______________
Note the way he "restates" our policies in a negative light. I've noticed this tactic a lot with the Dims in the last few years. Take the GOP position and restate it in a negative light as if it's fact. I know they must go to school on this stuff....they all do it. This strategy needs a name..."spin" has become too casual a word for it.

Thanks for the link...that looks promising...I feel better now.
I'm waiting for Clinton to weigh in on this, and believe me, he will.
