Saddam Hussein's favorite TV talking head, CBS multimillionaire Dan Rather, is in a snit over Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's comment that reporters are giving an exaggerated picture of looting and lawlessness in Iraq.
"I try to be an honest reporter, be an honest broker of information. And it's my judgment that if Secretary Rumsfeld had been here, he might have worded that at least in a somewhat different way," Rather complained to fellow traveler Larry King last night on CNN.
And we all know how honest and impartial Dan Rather is ...

"I heard that when this picture was taken, Rather had his shoes of and was caressing Saddam's inner thigh with his stocking feet."
That's a downright LIE! You know saddam would NEVER allow a stinking sock to touch him. He only goes for freshly bathed bare feet!

"he might have worded that at least in a somewhat different way," Rather complained " Other ways, Rumsfield could have said it...
- The press is making a mountain out of a molehill.
- 25,900,000 people are celebrating freedom, 100 are looting and the press focuses on the looting.
- The press is still focusing on the looting that occurred even now that the armed forces are patroling and preventing looting.
- The press doesn't know their head from their a--.
- The press needs to get their head out of their a-- and report on what is really happening.
- The press is so negative they make freedom sound like a bad thing.
- The press is so negative we could track troop movements by the electric charge of the embeds.
- How many of your staff did you let Saddam torture in order to get that propaganda to read on the air?

Well, like Jimmy Carter, Dan Rather never met a ruthless dictator he didn't like.

If it weren't for Free Republic, I don't think I'd know what Dan Rather is saying anymore.

"I try to be an honest reporter, be an honest broker of information."
Rather is so dishonest that he can't bring himself to utter a simple "I am an honest reporter." He would choke on the words.
Thus, he has to come out with this "honest broker of information" shit!
STFU, Rather. We got your number, already.

Rather-Biased should just give up on ever becoming Ed Morrow II, hook-up with Peter Arnett, and cruise around Old Europe on a Paparazzi Scooter-Built-For-Two, snooping around ritzy hotels, using state-of-the-art spycams to look for relational hanky-panky 'in situ' among visiting celebrities...
