Actually, July 4, 1776 IS breaking news in the Arab-Muslim world, which still is delusional enough to believe in the return of Saladin and the ascendancy of the Arab world back to where it was 800 years ago.
For a culture where there is no such thing as democracy, religious tolerance, and a free press with people able to find out facts and debate them openly amongst themselves, I think reading the Declaration of Independence might be a breaking news revelation of enormous proportions.
