Morning RC! Thank you as always for your dedication!
I was running around at work this AM so I did'nt get a chance to listen to the briefing...but then again, after the opening statement there is no need to listen to Q & A....Don't want to get too aggravated on this beautiful Monday morning.
83 degrees is supposed to be the high today in sunny Chi-town!

Here's Victor Davis Hanson putting things in perspective:Our Western Mob--From the graveyard of Kabul to the quagmire of Iraq to the looting of Baghdad.

In short, would any reporter demonstrate a smidgeon of curiosity — other than condemning a plan they scarcely understood — about the mechanics of the furious battle for Iraq? It would be as if America forgot about Patton’s race to the German border, and instead focused only on Frenchmen shaving the heads of Vichy collaborators, or decided that it had not been worth freeing the Italian peninsula because a mob had mutilated and hung Mussolini from his heels. Did any remember what had happened to a Russian armored column that tried to enter Grozny to control that city? Did any have a clue what Germany or Italy was like in June 1945?

What was striking about the Iraqi capitulations was the absence of general looting on the part of the victorious army. From the fall of Constantinople to the Iraqi takeover of Kuwait City, winners usually plunder and pillage. American and British soldiers instead did the opposite, trying to protect others’ property as they turned on water and power. That much of the looting was no more indiscriminate than what we saw in Los Angeles after the Rodney King Verdict, in the New York during blackouts, or in some major cities after Super Bowl victories, made no impression on the reporting. Remember this was a long-suffering impoverished people lashing out at Baathists — not affluent, smug American kids looting and breaking windows at the World Trade Organization in Seattle.

Good morning, all. Our troops had another outstanding 24 hours.

French, Russian, German and the UN don't yet understand that the the future of Iraq is up to the Iraqi people. Thank goodness Jay Garner, Tommy Franks and President Bush understand that the order of the looting post-Saddam shows the will of the Iraqi people in action.

Boring household duties call. (^;

Thomas Freidman, NY Times, just said on ABC, Good Morning America:

"The French have become my new moral compass. Anything they're for, I'm against."

LOL!

Dr. Bob is also a pilot.

He is usually called in to cover airline crashes...he was magnificent covering the JFK, Jr. crash. He had just moments before cancelled a flight he was going to make over the same area, due to weather.

Incredible guy. I'd guess he's in his mid 50's.

Newt was talking on Fox and Friends about Russia's government knowing about all the help given to Iraq. (GPS jammers, etc.) The collusion. Newt was surprised about the hit list Russia provided to Saddam. He said it will be revealed in time what France sold to Iraq and he reiterated what Rumsfeld said about Syria having chemical weapons.

Israel: We quickly secured the western front, taking the airport there very early. That is near Jordan's eastern border. Israel's east border is Jordan's west border.

WMD: You need a high expertise just to handle these so it doesn't backfire. It's possible that the Iraqi necessary high tech guys never arrived and the WMD never got out of storage.

The second thing is that we advertised the heck out of "moonless night" but went at the full moon. I think Saddam was two weeks behind schedule.

Tell your friend to read up on Hitler and his crimes. Saddam is guilty of the same. No one stopped Hitler early on and the good guys paid dearly.
