Now we'll know the full story of all that happened at the capture and later. Here's hoping that when they were rescued, that their captors were captured or killed. I'm specfically refering to the Iraqi who was shown on TV grinning over the dead bodies of our soldiers. He won't be grinning with a rope around his neck.

Their captors took off--the command officers with the unit. The ones that were left took the POWs and sought out a Marine unit (it was probably the first US unit they found) and turned them over. I doubt if we'd treat those who turned them over badly--in fact, those Iraqis would be a great source of intel for us.
Can you imagine the elation of those Marines when they realized who they had?

Per what CNN was reporting, the Iraqi "leaders" fled, leaving the Americans in the "custody" of low-level Iraqi soldiers--who apparently didn't want the responsibility for "retaining" them.
Wouldn't it be ironic if those remaining Iraqi soldiers surrendered to their American POW's?
