Bush did indeed inherit Clinton's Army. I had thought it would take him a full two terms to repair the damage. But Rumsfeld and the guys have done amazing things. My Dad calls them Bush's Steely-Eyed Killers!

A GOP run Congress that pushed the extra money helped too.

To think we barely spend $400 billion on a direct responsibility outlined in the Constitution while we waste 3 times that on failed social programs.

Very good point! That is the right way to look at it. Bush did inherit Clinton's Army and it took two years to get it up and ready!

The new technology has been in the works for at least ten years. Thank heavens for those DOD contracts!

Clinton spread the military out so much there is no way a force such as this could have been assembled and performed so brilliantly under his administration.

The morale is a very big factor and believe me, just about everyone serving admires and TRUSTS this Commander in Chief.
