Just as I read your post, Chip Reid, embedded reporter in Baghdad and on MSNBC, says yes there's some looting but they did not have the sense it was anarchy, chaos, or any long term problem. Actually, as he speaks I realize I heard this report from Chip earlier.

It appears quite fun in all the pictures I have seen, like city wide swap meet. Nothing violent, just happy folks going home with refrigerators, grand pianos and butt ugly urns.

I was just watching MSNBC. Boy, have they gotten pro-US! Even gloating about CNN's lousy soul-selling treachery!

They interviewed Raymond Tanner, who said countries such as Russia and Germany could now form a "Coalition of the Billing," since they didn't want to do the willing stuff. In other words, they can pay the bills. Good idea!

I agree, it looked like they were having a great time, I didn't see anyone fighting...only helping each other carry off what Saddam had been "looting " from them for decades.
Media-wankers are just waiting for something dreadfull to come out of the Liberation. They are not happy unless they're miserable, and misery loves company!
