Putin is the best thing that ever happened to Russia. My aunt and uncle visited Russia many years back and they were forced to visit their relatives in a city hotel under watchful eyes.
After Putin came in, they went back and finally were able to visit their relatives at their modest rural home. On the wall was the 1938 wedding picture of my parents which included the visiting aunt as part of the bridal party.
Don't put Putin in the insignicant category yet.

Vera is one arrogant lib. The h$ll with law abiding citizens, scummy anarchists have more rights in Portland. The hate in her heart for America must reflect in her face..she's gotta sneak up on a mirror to check her make-up.

Respectfully, in consideration of Kurdish Nationhood, some points (upon which I take no side).
1. Every war in some way contains seeds of the next.
2. Viable nations have certain natural resource requirements.
3. Geography plays a big part: ports, rivers, etc.
4. Infrastructure is also critical; not just roads, but railroads and airports.
5. A little industry is required.
I don't know the answers to these questions (and since I have to leave the house 5 minutes ago, I won't be able to respond to any arguments that arise. Bye.)

I just love Rummy's reference to the looting etc going on in the Iraqi towns as "untidiness". You can kinda hear him telling his family that untidiness is that time between brushing your teeth and combing your hair....after that, there's no excuse.

I agree with you that has been my suspicion from the very beginning.

123 schools were Baath party headquarters.
Wow! They really do have something in common with the U.S. public schools!

I thought it was a new day for Russia. Yes, I had hope for them. But I always think of something a commentator said years ago about Gorby, that he opened the door to freedom for his country, but he himself was unable to walk through it.
It seems even his country is still not yet able to walk through the door, with Putin in charge. Aligning poor Russia with Old Europe was a bone-head move.

All this crap about looters and the other BS from Russia and France and yet:don't you hear it?
The outrage over the misstreatment of US Prisoners Of War by the great Koffee kake?????
What, you haven't heard the crys from the democrats and the criminal liberal media and the United Network of crooks and theives.....
Of course not, they are all enemies of America, and should be done away with......
Face it folks, if you could get away with getting old Dasshole over to Iraq, or sending some of those RINO's over to be with Saddam, you'd do it in a heartbeat
And so would I....they are enemies of our country.

To be with Saddam...yes. To be with the newly free people of Iraq...no. I wouldn't wish them on anyone.
