French radio speaks of the unease and embarrassment of the French Government who may now be wondering if they backed the wrong horse. MAY now be wondering? Talk about understatement of the DECADE!

"Just around the corner from here anti-war protesters are still holding around the clock demonstrations and they say they'll remain there until American and British soldiers withdraw altogether from Iraq and there's little faith here in Germany that they are in a hurry to do so."
So the protesters stil feel thay have something useless to do, I guess

Just around the corner from here anti-war protesters are still holding around the clock demonstrations and they say they'll remain there until American and British soldiers withdraw altogether from Iraq and there's little faith here in Germany that they are in a hurry to do so. Sure, and while they're at it, might as well keep it up until German forces get out of Afghanistan. I'm sure what's left of the Taliban doesn't want them there, and these idiots wouldn't want to offend them, now would they??

The newspaper 'De Telegraaf' is very happy, they backed the US all the way. Daily 'Trouw' also comments on the denail in the Arab world. The leftists 'Volkskrant' also took a look at the Arab standpoint, refering to the American presence as bad.
The NOS, the Dutch public broadcaster, who is leftist run, and anti-American (they recently intoduced a text-bar like CNN has on the bottem. They tested it but didn't know that the bar was live on TV. There were several anti-American text, like 'Bombs on Baghdad, New York and Washington') aired all the footage, but their correspondent in Washington said this: "The US could use a small Iraqi attack with biological weapons" refering too missing WMD-evidence.

As Dennis Miller pointed out, the Germans are primarily upset that the attack "wasn't on a grand enough scale."

I am watching an overview ('Der Weg' - the road) of the war on the German ARD. Continual anti-Americanism made by leftists. The worst part is at the end: 'After 23 days, the war still isn't over'. Still isnt' over? Like the coalition was supposed to do it in a weekend or so.

French radio speaks of the unease and embarrassment of the French Government who may now be wondering if they backed the wrong horse. I'm all for metaphor, but this one's just a little too squeaky-clean for my taste. Let's try what it really was "French radio speaks of the unease and embarrassment of the French Government who may now be wondering if they should not have backed a friend and longtime ally over momentary financial interests and a genocidal despot."
Much better.

Looks like Saddam isn't the only one to take a "direct hit" lately, the losers club are having a tough time with all of this, wait, it'll get much worse for them.

But France's media suggests the government has been politically embarrassed by the warm welcome that American forces received when entering Baghdad.Oh, this is rich! But if they're embarrassed now, wait till what we're finding in Iraq becomes public...

One Paris diplomat complained:
"We were hoping to see more collaborators. More Jews getting turned into the authorities for propper gassing. More rudeness to tourists."

The Russians have never come to grips witht he fact that they would have succummed to the Nazi onslaught if it were not for the support of the US (capitalist) industrial system's material support. Absent an active capitalist sponsor, there was no way they should have expected the Iraqi's to endure a prolonged siege. Saddam knew this, which was why he depended upon France. That was his biggest mistake.

... Jacques Chirac said ... that he hoped there would be a rapid end to the fighting.Hey, let's cut the guy some slack. After all, he comes from a place that is used to "a rapid end to the fighting."
