From this it sounds to me like our Marines are being careful not to damage these mosques. I wish we'd start leveling these things.

While we can all understand the sentiment - this war is also a war for the hearts and minds of the muslims! If we start wantonly destroying buildings they consider sacred (and they WILL see it that way regardless of what we say!), the little sympathy we have will disappear! We must win on this "second" front as well, or all of the sacrifice will be for naught.

I'm fascinated by the color of the sky/architecture in the Baghdad photo's. The blues and sienna's are beautiful

I've read once that loooooooooooooooooong ago that Iraq use to be a beautiful place to live and visit
