I know because that is exactly what happened for me when I was frustrated with not being able to find the news on THIS thread. Aw, come on, Addict, you weren't treated that badly, considering your first "frustrated" post :-).
And -- this is the key -- you didn't get your feathers ruffled too badly, and stayed around long enough to realize that this thread, warts and all, is one of the greatest shared experiences Free Republic has ever experienced. "The Election," that changed so many of us from lurkers to donating FReepers wasn't as upbeat as this until the very end, and we spent the slow periods biting our nails...
You came in and complained, but then you had a beer or two, met a few really cool new FRiends, lightened up, and started participating. Probably opened up another browser on Latest Posts, too...
If K will do the same, and hit F5 a few times, we'll have a new FRiend. If he keeps his feelings on his shoulder, well, we'll probably all check out his new "all news" thread, too :-).
Now, anything but wind and Windy 3,2,1 on the Bagcams? Where's Baghdad Bob?

the Senate will never pass ANWR. To be honest, once this iraq oil starts to flow onto the market, we won't need it.If I may add a little insight here? I'm a Geologist. The ANWR region is known to have only enough reserves to supply the country for SIX MONTHS. Then it will be dry.
Wouldn't the money spent on developing the ANWR oil field be better spent on getting alternative energy solutions mainstreamed to the public? Solar, wind, hydrogen cars, etc. all exist, but they are not mass produced, so they are all still relatively expensive. IMHO, we need to spend money on renewable energy resources, not on extracting the last drop of oil from the planet. Oil is a finite resource. It cannot be replaced. Once it's gone, it's gone. What will the grandchildren of our grandchildren do when we've used up all the world's oil?
I welcome thoughtful responses. But hey, if you have a witty response instead, lemme have it! ;-)

I disagree. I've been around almost since FR has been around (addressing the tradition thing) and the few times I've seen it it has rubbed me the wrong way.
JMO on how it appears and can be perceived.

I love Lt Col. Oliver North. His reports really bring us close to the unit he is with. You know he loves the marines he is with. He's a good guy and a great American. He is not in a command position and he has the luxury of getting close with the men in his unit.

PBS just broadcast a Frontline proClinton/albright antiBush story on N Korea. They must be drooling over the hit piece timing of this. They made it look like clinton's people (and carter) had arranged a really neato plan but the eeeeeevil republican messed up everthing.
To: SoldiersGirl
the purpose, that you keep missing, is a LIVE report of the days events. Excuse me, having a husband in the conflict does not give you the right to talk down to anyone. I have been here through all of the nonsense (the phallic buildings, Pretty Chicken etc)and have only complained about graphics.. until today.
Those events are not always breaking news, the iraqi Sign with the word WANKER on it, was an event..we discussed it..
Yes, it was breaking yesterday!!! We've heard it all day!!!

There's the "only 6 months supply" canard.
Okay, you are the geologist, you tell me exactly how many barrels of oil that is.

More G.I. wives get hoax casualty callsUPI, by Staff
CAMP PENDLETON, Calif., April 10 (UPI) -- Wives of Camp Pendleton Marines involved in the war in Iraq have been receiving crank calls from individuals claiming to work for the Red Cross who regretfully, and falsely, inform them that their spouses had been killed in action.

I am a geologist too, and although I haven't worked in quite a few years I keep up on energy issues.
Since there has been no drilling in ANWR, where are you getting your information on the reserve? I am curious, because I see that six month figure quoted all the time, but i can't ever seem to find a source.
Small arms fire on NTV BagCam?

Goodness! Were you an only child? Spoiled rotten?
You sound like a Democrat...is this thread some sort of entitlement?
If you don't like the "nonesense" then just leave! Geez.
Or go report my "nonesense" to the Admin Moderator and he can kick me off!
