Outspoken actress Susan Sarandon has lashed out at American TV coverage of the war in Iraq - claiming viewers are being subjected to pro-US President George W. Bush propaganda. The Banger Sisters star says it wasn't until she was on location in Toronto, Canada, last winter that it became clear to her the conflict was being falsely reported in her home country. She says, "I was in Canada when this was happening and if you're outside the country you get a very different perspective on the way things are working. You get news from around the world." The vocal anti-war protestor also brought a new issue to the fore - claiming billions of dollars are being cut from American war veterans' benefits in order to pay for the war. She continues, "The thing I want to focus on now is making sure that the veterans of these wars and of wars past do not suffer from those budget cuts that this administration has put into the budget, which is huge, $45 billion I believe it is over the next 10 years."

Susan Sarandon proves that the only thing some women should part is their legs.

>>>"I was in Canada when this was happening and if you're outside the country you get a very different perspective on the way things are working. You get news from around the world."Most of the news from around the world is reported by a bunch of third world socialists and anarchists, and is highly anti-American. Nuff said.

The Major League Baseball Hall of Fame just nixed a commemoration of Bull Durham because of her and her hubby's past antics.
Bad News For Sarandon
HOF to Sarandon: "We believe your very public criticism of President Bush at this important -- and sensitive -- time in our nation's history helps undermine the U.S. position, which ultimately could put our troops in even more danger."

Yeah, watch for this ploy by lots of others. It was pioneered of course by Hillary; first the Armed Services Committee assignment, and then publicly supporting the troops. These people are vile and shameless.

Always remember these immortal words:
"I can see him being seduced by Clinton but dont understand what him and Bush speak about."

In Susan Sarandon's most memorable performance, she played a whore.
The more things change...

Let's just take the phrases that define the parties in this dispute.
Sarandon: "The Banger Sisters star."
Bush: "US President."
That about sums it up...

Gosh Susie, all you had to do was watch CNN, or read anything Petah Arnett has written for the Arabic news. Sheesh, gotta tell those starlets everything!

I think you make a good, so-far unstated point (or at least I haven't heard it): never again will the VietNam type protests, no matter how vitriolic, be allowed to go unanswered. The silent majority will never again be silent.

Huh? Is this true? I thought GWB increased the salaries and benefits for our military. Where is Susan getting these numbers? Why is she so concerned for our women and men who served our country? And why does Susan feel compelled to speak for all of us? Do we really care what the world thinks about us?
These questions need to be answered. Dammit!

Whether this is true or not, I think she is trying to save face with this new task.

Oh sure! NOW she does not want to focus on the war, what she wants to focus on NOW are veterans. COME ON!! Talk about trying to change the subject!! This is SO transparent. I am sure she does not want to focus on the war because she was so bleeding wrong about it. Oh yeah, playing the veterans card, using them as human sheilds so people won't remember that she has been on the wrong side of this from the start.

Is this the only way she can get publicity anymore? Give it up Susan.

Oh, my - Susie's now a veterans' spokesperson. That's the funniest bit of posturing I've seen all day, and there have been some good ones, such as our four-hair combover Iraqi UN Ambassador wishing somewhat fruitily for peace, Peter Arnett celebrating Iraqi freedom, Robert Fisk - but in Fisk's case I need say no more, everything that comes out of his mouth is hilarious. Before this is over Baghdad Bob will be offering pansies to some befuddled Marine...
To: Theresa
This is not the first lib to say we are cutting veteran benefits. Are we ? I can't find any info one way or the other.
