I have to confess there is a bit of a tear in my eyes. Can you just picture these folks, living under Saddam for 25 years. Family members dissapeared, sanctions, Iranian war, Gulf War I and II... those under 30 remembering nothing in their lives other than this brutal regime... just gathering now, feeling freedom for the first time ever.

The terror evaporating under the strength of our presence, getting ready to see the symbolic representative of their oppressor topple before them. This is very powerful stuff.

I don't have to "imagine" their plight too much... I've known over a dozen Iraqis during Saadumb's regime... They all have horror stories to tell. I always believed them. (Sobbing like a baby to see this day finally arrive...)
