Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

Didn't McFarlane attempt suicide at one point years back, or am I wrong?
To: Fledermaus
Yep. CYA vote, nothing more. It was also weeks before the midterm election. But we do have the video/audio of these pinheads in December/January/February/March talking about how bad it was going to be.

I'm so amazed and thankful for what Bush and his administration, along with our excellent military, were able to accomplish now, just 504 hours from the official beginning.
It's taking America longer to kick Kimberly Caldwell off American Idol!

Isn't Latakia a Baltic country? Latvia, yes. Latakia, no.
To: Consort
Who knows, the Baltic countries seem to change every week, same with the -stans, every week there's a new -stan coming out

Who is the guy on Fox now? His voice would put a speed freak to sleep.

I am disgusted that Ricky was thrown out. Good grief! He actually has talent. I do not think goat girl or Kimberly Caldwell have it. Pisses me off!

Colmes said that no, many democrats voted for the war back in October. He also said Pelosi and Daschle supported the troops. BS -- show me the tape, Colmes!
He can't "put up," so ought to STFU.
To: najida
Colmes and Michael Reagan getting in quite an argument....
I swear, sometimes I think they need a water cannon to break up the fights!
Like a pitbull vs a yorkie terrier. (Easy to tell which is which).

Didn't McFarlane attempt suicide at one point years back, or am I wrong? To be honest, I know nothing about the guy, and just "went off" at the "Latakia" comment (which could just as easily been my lyin' ears adding sylables to his speach)
To: umbagi
Wasn't Pelosi one of the "thier killing innocent women and children" choir?

The comment that CLINTON'S military won the war is a direct DNC talking point. I heard Barney Frank use it a few days ago.
They have taken a shorthand view of both what the Republicans said and what the democrats did and have fused it into this argument.
The shortage in military funding was mostly in pay and housing, with delays in starting new research. Current equipment was not so much the issue. It was personnel, both numbers and morale, that were the big concern.
At any rate, hearing this argument twice leads me to believe that the Clintons still have control and are trying to repair their reputations. Fair warning, folks!

The artist formerly known as "Latakia"?
has anyone else noticed that there have been no cars on the bagcam tonight?

Wife's soaps this morning were pre-empted. You should have heard Rather and the others on CBS. It was all so droll and negative.
Rather then "raised the bar" by saying, "but if the demise of Saddam is in doubt, this will not be total victory".
Hey Dan, I trust Bush and his Generals to tell me when victory is, not you and your a-hole liberal friends!
To: TomGuy
He actually tried to claim Clinton should get credit for building this bad-ass military! The mind boggles.
