Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

Maybe the fire was set by the French, Germans, and Russians.I consider them Saddamites as well.

I took my CC Radio which gets over the air TV reception in my van when I took the kids to school. Although I was mostly listening to Fox, I switched to ABC and NBC to get a sense of what they were saying. Noticed that Jennings *twice* said on ABC that it was "small" crowds that pulled down the statue.

ABC Radio News reporting that Red Cross has been trying desperately to get medical supplies to Baghdad. But their convoy was shot at and they've had to abandon their effort. One of their workers was hit.

Simon Marks said the Iraqi border guards are asking the journalists they used to search for rides into Iraq from the border...

Wolf Blitzer just got "Sterned"! Fake caller was supposed to be a reporter in Baghdad. He said "Good eveneing, wolf, we can report they're going to replace Baghdad Bob with Howard Stern"!Bwahahahaha!

these people I work with are awful...they show absolutely no interest in this event today You too? You should have been here on Sept. 11th. I can't even get into it or I'll have to quit ahead of schedule which I can't afford. But it's coming. And that was the turning point.

This is a day for celebration.Yes it is! Pres. Bush and Tony Blair have done more than anyone could imagine or expect to deflate the danger Clintoon has placed the world in. With resolve and conviction good will prevail. It is a very good day!

Men and women in the Military give themselves for us anywhere they are called to do so. Just ordinary men and women. They are the Heros. Not the Hollyweird ilk, not the athletes, not the political shills. The men and women in uniform. May God bless them all. I was thinking about that last night when Fox had on a young reservist walking the streets of Baghdad waiting for sniper fire so we could take them out. He had a job at Sears, but joined the reserves after Sept 11th and is proudly serving in Iraq. Our youth seem to be stepping in to take back our country from the idiots that have held us captive. God bless the fine young men and women that fight for us and the world.
