Tanks on the bridge ... one took a shot.
The lead tank looks like it has a PWO/MIA flag flying from it.

There was sniping going on from their camera position. I saw it, repeatedly. Abu Dabhai ran the replay about 15 times.

Just confirmed on FNC, that camera man WAS shot and DIED at the hospital. I think they said AL Jazeera, but the feed was from Abu Dhabi, so who knows. Nothing creepier than watching what it's like to be shot at.

You are right about CNN, MSNBC wanting to be "world" TV, but they can't quite pull it off.
I disagree with you about the desirability of this. I think it's the JOB of the media to try to find a neutral vantage point, to the extent possible.
The media doesn't need to provide government spin. Let the government do its own spinning.

Boy, what a bad place to be video taping........
To: cgk
WOW, talk about live TV......Everything is live except for the cameraman
To: swheats
and MSNBC apparently reported that IRAQ hit Al Jazeera, not US. Nice switch, eh? (/sarcasm)

That brown cloud that appeared "between" the camera and the tanks was an HE round from the lead tank! There is a telephoto video clip from that hotel on the east side of the Tigris that shows the lead tank taking out the camera postion.
I think that the close ups of the tanks were taken from the Abudabi office that everyone is talking about. The cameraman just died in the hospital!

They do need some new video controller guys.
To: cgk
Iguess Abu Dhabi TV is going to need another camera guy.
To: All
on Fox - cameraman right above enemy machine gun. You can see the smoke and empty cases flying up right in front of the camera. No wonder he got shot.

Can anyone capture some screenshots of the shells flying up?

MSNBC has Bob Arnot on Live right now. I'm sorry, I'm a channel jumper ...

The fog of war. We have terrorists or Iraqi soldiers acting as snipers out of the same building with cameramen.

The earlier film on the bridge does seem to show an RGP round missing the lead M1 on the bridge just behind it...then both M1's open up on the apartment several times.
Each time the Abrams fired you could see the dust swirl..but the first dusty scene looked like an RPG miss...it may actually even be 2 RPG misses then the Abrams go hot.
