Greg was using his video phone which tends to pixilate when subject is in motion so the actual explosion looked like a few overblown pixels, but this is just how we saw it on FOX.

1) the statue. You could hear the shot fired, it's travel and then

2) the pixels.

After that

3) a cloud.

That video of the explosion looks like one of those old Atari video game explosions (ooh, dating myself there).
