I was surprised to read that article - that most of the embeds are opposed to the war. I'd really hoped/thought being there and seeing a country liberation would make a difference.

Be of good cheer. There are 600 embedded reporters and there is no way one guy can say how they all are behaving.

No, I am not silly enough to think they are permanently changed or anything. But I think we can trust the reporting that we've observed and admired is gaining our admiration because in fact we are detecting those embeds' admiration for our troops.

I think doing medivac all day with severely injured and at least 1 or 2 dead young men would get to anyone.

It zaps you physically, mentally, and emotionally. You just want to get drunk and sleep forever.

Well! May I sing the praises of MSNBC for a moment.

They just took one of President Bush's recent speeches and had excerpts with a slight echoey effect, alternating the president's image with war images and moving music. Theme: A tribute to the bravery of our men and women.

It was wonderful and ended focusing on a patch that said "God Bless America".
