I have noticed since the beginning that their lies are quite transparent, which raises the question, "who is this charade playing to?" The power is off in Baghdad., so it isn't to the people there. "What remains of the Republican Guard?" Maybe. "Potential defectors from other parts of the country?" Certainly not the American soldiers, and if they think they are fooling American and British intelligence or military strategists, they are dumber than I thought.

I think that is a pretty accurate assessment.

That, and I understand that he was diagnosed with lymph cancer back in 1998 or 1999. I don't think he'd be looking too good. Add to that the effect of a couple of bunker busters coming down on his bunker, and he is looking remarkably well. It will take a lot more "proof" than these dismal theatrics to convince me that Saddam OR his sons are alive.
