Now I'm not sure. Bill Handel on KFI said he gave the name of the farmer. He absolutely could have pre-recorded a tape of an Apache shoot down, but he wouldn't have had the name. Does anyone know if Handel's report is true? Did he give a name?

there were plenty of reports that he survived but was "injured". maybe he stubbed a toe.

in any case, what this also shows is that we still can't seem to take their TV network down. their fiber optic network strung within the underground bunker system is still intact, and they must have portable uplinks that they drag around and hook up for broadcasting.

You are assuming this is the only tape here. There might also be a tape giving props to a farmer who shot a tank, a f-18, a duck... whatever.

Once anything goes down, the Iraqi TV hyped it, under orders from the Baath people in Bagdad, and there goes Saddam praising the farmer.

I will ask again... is there any reason why Saddam would not want to praise the Muslim soldier who fragged his officers, and to encourage others to do the same?

One of our Apaches went down due to mechanical difficulties and they claimed they shot it down.

They have also claimed they've shot down several helos, a bunch of planes, destroyed almost all of our tanks and killed hundreds of our soldiers. Not to metniton the hundreds and hundreds of civilians we've supposedly killed. And all he mentioned was one helicopter.

Also, this is translated. How do we know they didn't do a little bit of voice work and slip a couple of words into tape.
