As he recounted the events today, that decision set in motion one of the most dramatic moments in the first two weeks of the war in Iraq. Five days after Mohammed located U.S. Marines and told them what he knew, Black Hawk helicopters swooped in under cover of darkness, touching down next to the six-story hospital, and a team of heavily-armed commandos stormed the building. With hand-scrawled maps from Mohammed and his wife, the commandos quickly found the injured Pfc. Jessica Lynch and spirited her away to safety.

the story of the Iraqi man who spotted Pvt. Jessica Lynch in that hospital ... he risked life and family to get the word to our troops. Make THIS man head of gov't!

I will read the Washington Post version tomorrow. I have read two other accounts of this man and emailed the first story to friends, then read the second story and sent that one, too, because it had more detail.

Breathtaking and beautiful. Thank you for posting the link to yet another account so more will learn of the bravery and kindness of this good man and his wife and child.
