As far as I know, yes. Power still off in Baghdad. No A/C, except for the folks with generators. Probably helps us locate generators (heat signature), and thereby, command and control sites, power sources.

If it was Iraqis working with us that took out the power grid, the answer was truthful. If it was special ops, it'd comprise their safety.

Agreed on all counts. I hope the taking out of civilian power is something that "we" can control, within certain limits of course.

AFP use of Umm Qasr, and what is your mood?

A: Umm Qasr is very important port and we've taken so much effort in transition. Haven't used Umm Qasr for military logistics yet. But it (military logistics) is a priority for us. We can't put that port at risk. So we seek alternatives rather than put it at risk.

Mood is upbeat. Keep cautious optimism. Never underestimate enemy.

I smile every time I see this story - Marty is one of the few "nice guys" inside CNN; I met him when I worked there. I put him in that same "good guy" class as the late John Holliman - soft-spoken personally, and one who is there to do a job, period. He's not wrapped up in the personal politics that so many others have; his head has not ballooned into the overblown ego that so many inside CNN Center have.

Have any of you noticed that the asian reporters that asked those ridiculous questions about hundreds and hundreds of Iraqi civilians being killed hasn't been called on in several days? Or have I just missed it?
