After seeing the side by sides....I realize what else dosen't look right...the forehead. The guy with the beret has much narrower forehead. Also if you put a beret on the other guy and pulled it down to the same spot..his head would poke out the top.

OTOH, on some of the footage, the guy's moving his left arm just fine.

("I want my freedom. I don't want food or water. I just want freedom." - an Iraqi man to a US soldier)
Interesting commentary last night on Nightline (which I was a captive audience to watch this morning):
A reporter who had covered repressive dictator regimes for years was explaining how he read the actions of the Iraqis to the 'invasion.'
He discussed the clip of the first day that rations were distributed (the near riot dragging boxes off the trucks) when the crowd of mostly children began chanting praise to Saddam. He said that this arm-waving and chanting was the only way that they had been trained into showing enthusiasm for anything.
His entire report was very encouraging that the troops are acting well to gain the confidence of the locals. They are winning the confidence of the people, in this reporter's estimation.

Yes........supposedly from today.
They sure are going to a lot of trouble to convince us he's alive, aren't they?
To: Ragtime Cowgirl
Oh, that sounded mean. Sorry...what I meant was that I don't think Torie worries about whether other's like her clothes and that, based on the knee pads these reporters still carry for the last WH occupants, appearance for them is #1. They are probably more annoyed w/ Torie's clothes than Freepers are. That tickles me.I knew what you meant :-)) Her wardrobe is a source of amusement for me, though. Of course, I stopped wearing "going to the office" clothes a few years ago & I can wear casual clothes to the office. It's a relief.

I'm in a cubicle today...so I'm missing out on all this good stuff....tell me, has this Saddam who's walking around talked at all? Voice analysis would also be good to use....(of course, we all know Saddam's dead), but our Commander-in-Chief talks on cam, not just waves and smiles! : )

Interim Iraqi GovernmentGovernor: G. Gordon Liddy
Ollie North. He's over there anyway.

Wonder whatSaddam's doubles will do after the war?...
a. get a show on MSNBC?
b. get a doorman's job at the UN?
c. join a circus
To: Lauratealeaf
Today we got to hear the heartbeat!Oh, that's wonderful. You chose wisely. Stay away from the TV set. Even lil' ones in the womb shouldn't be subjected to this.

That film was fairly early in the morning. Some short sleeves and LOTS of rolled up sleeves. There is no need to roll up sleeves on a cool morning. Doesn't have to have been filmed this morning, but sometime since the war started is possible. All these claims that he would never appear in public miss the likelihood that this was a staged event, and every person visible has been screened.
I haven't seen anything to conclude one way or another, other than perhaps background smoke. But I can state that because of that Big Chicken statue in the background, its either Baghdad or Marietta, GA.

They are probably more annoyed w/ Torie's clothes than Freepers are. That tickles me.There's something subliminal about her wardrobe. I know this because after watching a press conference, I think last week, I had the strangest craving for Neopolitan ice-cream.

I don't see how it shows he's alive. The speech aired today, didn't prove anything either, except desperation by the remaining powers that be to show that Saddam is alive, and they've resorted to pretty suspicious looking evidence
Good point. I think that if this video of Saddam "walking amongst his people" is fake or old then it proves to me that the Iraqis are releasing footage of Saddam that is not current. That means he is either dead, wounded or hiding out somewhere.
