Why should baseball be any different? I care even less about what they have to say about baseball than I do what they have to say about the war.

Sarandon makes a movie about baseball, and this entitles her to appear on a panel discussing it. Once again the lines between fantasy and reality are blurred.
(Racking my brain trying to remember a film in which she did not come off as a pontificating, hardnosed, elitist snob. Nope. She even managed to be that way in "Little Women".)

They know at least as much about baseball as Sally Field, Sissy Spacek and Jessica Lange know about Farm Subsidies. And the N'Sync guy knows about strip mining. And Meryl Streep knows about Alar. And Martin Sheen knows about being president. And...
