Not only that, but you'd think that at some point, he'd run out of radioactive lightning to shoot out of his mouth.

I said 1AM or 2AM because I didn't want to expend the mental energy to figure out which was the daylight saving shift (Japan doesn't do daylight saving time). :-)

Not as long as there's Japanese curry available. Oh mama-san, no wonder the Big G's always cranky!

He starred in his own series of monster movies.

Gamera is really neat.

Gamera is filled with meat.

We all love you, Gamera.

(I miss MST3K!)

My sources tell me that NSGA Kamiseya (my old stomping grounds) is closed ... haven't heard anything from them about explosions in other CNFJ activities either. Will continue to keep an ear peeled.

My wife won't let me watch MST3K - she claims that its stupid, and that there are other things I could do with the kids instead.

Bummer. My wife wouldn't watch it with me (she can't stand schlock movies), but my kids enjoyed watching the show with me even if half the jokes did go over their heads.

Explosions at US base in Japan

There have been two explosions outside a US airbase in the Japanese city of Yokohama.

Police say the blasts occurred around the main gate of the Atsugi base in the Kanagawa area of the city.

Militants opposed to the war in Iraq are suspected of planting the devices, officials say.

There were no reports of casualties or damage.

Police said they found two steel pipes at a school near the military base which might have been used to fire projectiles.

Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi has been a vocal supporter of US military action in Japan, although polls show more than 60% of Japanese oppose the war.

Nothing, hardly nothing. Very minor problem.

these kinds of 'attacks' occur ALL the time. interesting how lib BBC kind of ties in popular support or non support of Bush on Iraq to this little 'attack' tonight. very clever. I'm not fooled.
