I watched as much of the press conference as I could stomach. Fleischer kept saying,yes-the President did have a general knowledge of the plan, but left it in the hands of the field commanders.
The reporters kept whining : " Did the President sign off on this plan ? " in as many ways as they could manage; and
Fleischer kept explaining the NORMAL and CORRECT way to do things was to delegate such decisions to the military commanders.
At this point, I got so disgusted with the inane questions being asked, I decided to go take a Peter Arnett, instead of watching TV...but I could only manage a Geraldo.

Don't mess with a Harvard MBA who has tanks at his disposal. I think Bush is the most gifted manager ever to hit the White House.

He approved a broad, flexible military plan for the war and is leaving all but the biggest decisions to Franks
My wife and I had an arrangement like that. I made all the big decisions, she made all the little decisions. She decided little things like where we would live, where the kids would go to school, and what house to buy. I decided the big things like whether to give China MFR status and if we should sign the Kyoto treaty or not.

That's where you are wrong. I have plenty of "clues" about the real George W. Bush. And to think I voted for him. I am so ashamed!

Perfect....General Franks doesn't have to pick up the phone everytime he wants to get something done. Unlike VIETNAM, where the POTUS and SECDEF micromanaged the war, this President is smart enough to let the Generals WIN the war. That being said the press will make it seem that he is totally oblivious to everything that has to do with the war. Hinting he is an incompetent C-in-C. They are TRULY rats.

You two are too funny.
If we would have had principled leadership like this in the previous administration, maybe, just maybe, we wouldn't have to be doing all this...
Go back to DU where you belong.

Gosh -- who was the female journalist who then implied that the President was "out of touch" with what was really going on -- Jeez!!!

That's her name -- Campbell Brown. What an idiot -- insinuated that the President was out of touch because he's delegated running the war to the military. Another Clintonista...

Bush Did Not Order Plan to Rescue Troop The subliminable subtitle for this is "Bush is responsible for her torture."

The headline should have read:
BUSH HAD ADVANCE KNOWLEDGE OF POW RESCUE
Once again, we see how biased AP is toward Bush and the GOP.

This was Campbell Brown's "thing" today at Ari's presser. She hammered about it for about ten mintues. Campbell Brown has been a 'one-note samba' since the beginning of this thing. She's one of the ones who was hammering Ari one day because she just couldn't believe that Bush wasn't watching TV so he could 'see what he'd ordered'. Ari politely (how he can be so patient with these mediots, I don't know) told her that the President was well aware of the results of his orders, and he didn't need to watch TV to understand the seriousness of his decisions. SMACKDOWN!

Bush plays with crayons while Dick Cheney runs the country at the behest of Israel.
LOL!!!
I liked this aside, too:
If U.S. intelligence gives military leaders another crack at Saddam, Franks could act without Bush's prior approval, White House aides have said.
Uh, yeah... if there's anything left to crack, that is. But, of course, at the the AP, we must have failed at that, too.

Can't help but wonder what the AP headline would be were Clinton or Gore President.
Of course, if either of these idiots were President, we would still be waiting for Blix and all of his little inspectors to "find" something.

Captain, You have said it like it was.
Clinton milked everything he could for his own glory.
He was MR EGO.
I'm so glad he is gone.

What about Jimmy Carter? I thought it had to be a joke that he personally scheduled who played when on the White House tennis courts.....it wasn't a joke.

"I'm so glad he is gone."
Amen to that.
His whole 8 years was how do I spin it so I can take credit for it. Total symbolism over substance administration.
