Wonder if the released journalists had some information for this senator.

If nothing else, we should learn his fate once and for all within the coming days.

I have serious doubts about Capt. Speicher being alive. Is there some information circulating around that states otherwise?

His status has been changed over the years from KIA, to MIA, and then just last OCT. 2002 to POW due to intelligence reports.
If we indeed bring him home again, I wonder how this will all reflect on Cheney and Powell?

There's a reason this guy's status was changed. He's out there somewhere.

"I believe he is still alive," Nelson said. "The question is: Can we find him and bring him home alive?" Our Troops are on the way Senator .. if he is still alive, we will find him

If he's still alive, I hope people will demand answers about Vietnam too.

Did you read the article or know anything this man, who was recently (11/02 ?) reclassified as captured/missing (from KIA)?

Why would it affect Powell and Cheney?
To: Triple
Sure hope they do.
They did it before, and they going to do it again.

They were the ones who officially declared him KIA, I think however that they were going on what the Navy had determined during it's investigation.
I can easily see the Democrats using it against them, completely forgetting of course that Clinton had 8 years to bring him home and didn't.

The commentators on Fox, speaking about this situation, seem to be unanimous in their opinion he is alive. Apparently there have been credible sightings as recently as a couple of months ago.
I'm hoping some Iraqi general has him and wants to use him as a bargaining chip.

Yeah, I read the article. Why would Saddam keep him alive for 12 years? Given what we have seen in this war and the horror stories we have heard from some of the Iraqi people, I find this hard to believe.

I hope we find him after all these years, but have never had much hope that he was still alive.

I saw, quite awhile ago, a documentary about this officer.....and if my overall impressions serve me correctly, our government, for years, refused to accept the "fact" that he was still alive, having been told by numerous credible sources that he was in a prison......this documentary left me with the impression that the government would sooner or later HAVE to change his status from KIA to MIA or POW.
