I think the whole cakewalk scenerio was painted by the liberal media's pimp in chief, Bill Clinton. He mentioned that our superior military (no thanks to him) could topple Saddam's regime in five days.
Good point. Our superior military is definitely no thanks to him. The eight years of Clinton was so hard and demoralizing for the U.S. military. Remember when Gore was crowing about cutting the size of the federal government? Most of the cuts went to the defense department.
This especially hurt logistics and support. Many things were civilianized and contracted out and that is not necessarily a good thing when going to war. I read somewhere that the Egyptian who ran over those soldiers in Kuwait was a contractor.
I could go on and on but most of you already know it anyway. Would be preaching to the choir.

Of course he didn't tip off the military. He would be compromising his journalistic neutrality if he did anything to assist the military or one of our troops.
Remember the question presented to journalists about would they tip off a group of marines about an impending attack if they knew about it and the majority said "No, that would be taking sides when they should be neutral."

He was setting himself up to take credit for the whole damned thing! The depths of this man's dillusion is bottomlessNo. He was doing what he does best: talking out of BOTH sides of the mouth. Either way, Clintoon is correct.
Your last sentence, however, is 125% correct.

The Beeb is reporting the Spanish Embassy in Baghdad has been bombed. They aren't saying who did it--but you know the Iraqis will blame us.

Dang!
Last night I went to sleep watchin' Ollie "paused" by the roadside. This morning I woke up and his gang had wiped the Baghdad Division off the face of the earth. Fast work!
Now I went out for a couple hours and return to find out the 3rd ID has defeated the Medina Division!
At this rate we'll have supper in Baghdad!

I think the SRG sports some decent tanks. Not a match for ours, but not necessarily in city.
I think Baghdad will go "similar" to Basra. Maybe less intense, but certainly for a longer time. I doubt we'll "do anything sudden" or "large" once we are at the city gates. Mostly help the people get things under control, and root out Saddam's gang of thugs.

Michelle Malkin decrying the
Marshall Plan resettlement of Iraqi POW's as too expensive and unfair.
I wonder if Michelle realizes that some of those resettled Iraqi's aided the US in planning for Operation Iraqi Freedom?

Ken Adelman was author of cakewalk and as things look today and as wars go it has gone very well.We bombed the h.. out of them before we put boots on the ground in GW1 .The entire thing lasted about 45 days. We have much more land to cover this time and kept Saddam from causing another environmental disaster. While Cheney said it could be fast ,he went on to qualify it.

The Iraqis will blame us and the Press will report it as Gospel.

Saddam Hussein has been hired as a commentator, sources at MSNBC revealed today, and may soon be taking over Chris Mathew's time slot."Mr Hussein, a retired General and former Warrior/Head of State is well known and respected by our audience" an unnamed source announced, "Far from being dead we believe he will fill the void created by Phil Donahue's departure."
In other news Saddam's son Uday is considering a job offer from CNN to fill in for James Carville on "CROSSFIRE."

Speaking of Basra, you've got to hand it to the British soldiers. They've been having a tough time down there. I sometimes forget them in my prayers, so I'm making a specific point to include them right now.

Chem Bio is scary even if we're protected. What if he infects his population to 1) Blame it on us and, 2) Snow us with civilian casualties? That's our Saddam.
And germs know no borders...
Save BILLIONS of lives
Stop Saddam NOW!

They [Special REpublican Guard] feel relative security from harm. That has enabled our spies and covert operatives to move about more widely and unobtrusively. If Baghdad was buttoned down, the intel efforts would be severely limited. I agree that somebody on the ground knows who they are and where they are. I bet the members of the SRG aren't feeling all that secure though.
This has been a masterful campaign. You can bet the leaders of other countries have noticed. This is a new kind of warfare, and we play for keeps.
