I'm gonna need a nap after finishing this thread

After this thread I am going to go do my government class homework so that I can be free to go to my college republicans meeting later tonight.

Uh, I put the FLASH FLASH FLASH there. I'm old fashioned.

Oh, okay. That i'm fine with. I'm just imagining some "real" news site actually putting that on their front page, in which case I was going to have to point and laugh.

MSNBC's "expert" was blathering on all afternoon about pausing weeks for the 4th ID.

What a collection of assholes they have over there.

In the previous administration you know who would make this announcement....gathering glory by osmosis.

This is the fastest moving thread I have ever seen on FR so I feel the need to get a post in.

The buildup has me very curious. Extracting a POW during ongoing battles is an impressive act. Our troops ROCK!

MSNBC and FoxNews (citing AP) reporting that CENTCOM will announce shortly that an American POW has been rescued. It appears that the POW is one of the crewmembers of the Apache that went down last week. (NOTE: This is a correction to my original post, which indicated that more than one POW had been rescued; also, please note that I am, obviously, sketchy on the details).

Not if its Scott Speicher. The guy has been held by Iraq since the first 1st gulf war, which they have denied for years.

If the announcement is not about the POW, but what Torie Clark is planning to wear tomorrow, I will be a bit miffed.

Maybe something in leather?

President Bush does not want to be identified with operations. Wisely so. The plans are up to the generals and admirals, and W should not be perceived as interferings or directing.
