I can conceive of circumstances under which it might have a military purpose for Geraldo to tell the truth.

Maybe he was given permission to give out the info for some reason unknown to us back home generals.
Anyway, I am no fan of Geraldo but I am glad his ouster was not true because I would not like for Fox to look bad, after all, they are the only (to my knowledge) news outlet to give us a pro american view.

I prefer that my kids master English before the start learning Spanish on Dora...(not that they get English speaking skills on SpongeBob)
I used SpongeBob as an example of the traditional morning line up in my home...It's kid geared, not necessarily just SBob.

Fortunately, I didn't say what I was thinking.

Yes I am biased against all media and do not forgive bad reporting because the media seems to agree with my editorial slant.

I find the tendecy for peoples blind faith in FOX just because it is FOX disturbing. QUESTION EVERYTHING! I thought I was in the forum that cherished Reagan's "Trust But Verify" principle. I trusted FOX but their news was verified wrong on many occasions. I do not watch CNN or MSNBC as much as FOX so the FOX errors jumped out at me. Especially annoying are reports that were nothing more than purposeful disinfo leaked by Intel or State or Pentagon sources and at the time reported as facts unverified by reporters on the ground-info later proved wrong.

Reuters is still reporting the story of Geraldo's "movement" as fact as of 11:56AM ET:

Military Moves Reporter Geraldo Rivera from Iraq
Reuters
Mar 31 2003 11:56AM

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Veteran reporter Geraldo Rivera, a correspondent for Fox News, is being removed from Iraq by the U.S. military for reporting Western troop movements in the war, the Pentagon said on Monday. "He was with a (U.S.) military unit in the field and the commander felt that he had compromised operational information by reporting the position and movements of troops," Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman told Reuters.

"The commander thought it best to get the reporter out of his battle space and we understand he is being removed from Iraq," Whitman said.

Fox News in New York had no immediate comment, and Whitman said he did not have details of the incident.

But media reports said Rivera, a former talk show host and veteran correspondent who has also reported the war in Afghanistan and high-profile stories such as the O.J. Simpson murder trial, had been with a unit of the 101st Airborne Division when the incident occurred.

Whitman said Rivera was not officially "embedded," or assigned to the unit by the military, but was covering the troops at the time.

Hundreds of reporters from around the world are currently assigned to U.S. and British military units to report the war in Iraq under ground rules that allow them freedom to report without compromising the security of the troops.

What he did was worse than Arnett did. Arnett only gave what he thought was an analysis of the war,

You have got to be kidding. Arnett could have possibly fanned the flames and given the enemy an added boost to bring more suicide bombers against our troops. He should have kept his mouth shut.

This story is still developing.

Don't be surprised if Geraldo is canned.

I'm looking right now at such a map on FOX. The screen writers have been talking about game plans all day every day on how we will enter Baghdad and engaging the Republican Guard in smaller cities.

So we are both biased, only for different reasons. That is understandable. I promise to leave you alone about yours if you stop carping on us about ours.

PS My family is from Wisha, and I am proud of my Scottish heritage. I am enjoying our debate...

You may want to clue Miss Piggy in about salads.

It's like, "Pull up a sofa Rita and tell us what you know".

Success appears to have gone straight to her ass.

"I was talking about the first map not the second one. On the first map he drew a close up of the town they were going to assault and the toop positions along with the direction of the attack. Perhaps he used the second one for cover. If you have the replay check the first map and let us know. "

Gotta tell ya< I saw the same report and thought no big, been seeing the same stuff all night, if the Iraqi's are using G2 from Geraldo to key their intellegence, they are in Deep Doo Doo..;-)
