Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Larry King's guests were so negative and pathetic tonight that even Larry was uneasy and commented about it.

I have a minor in Middle Eastern studies, and understand their deep rooted hatred of the West. That Newsweek guy was an idiot though, cowering and empathizing with that hatred. In my opinion this war is a huge risk, but it is also exactly what could be the root of a new opinion. It is hard for me to believe, given a choice, that anybody would opt for a sadistic tyrant over liberation.
Having said all of that, we are there because of the threat Saddam poses to the United States, the region and the world in general. And the rest, even if it all goes badly, is secondary.

Besides, I SWEAR the cable and dish companies can monitor what channels we're watching if we pause on CNN. I feel like I'm commiting a crime if I stray too far from FNC! ;-)

Tony Blair has told officials to halt a £10billion defence contract won by a French firm Hallelulia!!! I hope this stands. The french, and to a lesser extent the germans and russians, must be made to pay economically for their dastardly deeds. Perhaps we can manage to shunt some of the contracts which used to be filled by those traitors over to the newly liberated Iraqis. Of course, the bulk ought to go to Americans, Aussies, Poles, "New Europeans" and other coalition members.
